edgun .30 or bobcat .30?
i’m torn between the two…I realize that i have been on the fence for a while but, i mostly do big(ger) game (coyote). i currently have the fx boss and was wondering what the difference between the edgun and fx in the .30 caliber…. thanks fellow TAG members!!!

I had a .30 and took mine apart to fix the gauge alignment. and i gotta say.. the ring, tube and the fitting the gauge screws in is heavy. I think its all brass and its got some weight..
I like the way ed does it. with the fill on the airube and the gauge. The reason for that line on the FX is purely so that u can see the tank pressure… the non regulated ones don’t have that little line.
The FX bobcat uses a lot of un called for parts and the shit adds up and thats why it weighs so much. Me I’m personally waiting on the max ml .357, been there done that with FX

I think of FX more like my Air Arms SS510C. Not at the Daystate Air Ranger level. AOA has spent some $$$ to try to make the perception that FX is higher than they really are with their exclusive distributorship. It has to be one of the most profitable guns they sell. :2cents:
A typical American just getting into PCPs has no idea and they are very good but not great. The only reason I bought my AA is the fancy thumb-holed walnut stock and the lever. That stock brought it up to $1259 but most AAs area around $1000. They are very competent guns.
FX makes ,IMO , a good Workman- like AG’s and are also regarded as such over here. Nothing fancy but good, reliable Rifles – much like a Volvo of Airguns. Daystate, Air Arms , Theoben etc are regarded as a class above FX and also priced thereafter. In Sweden an FX costs much less than in US eventhough we pay a 25% VAT on them. I.ex a Beluga costs 65% more in US compared to what it costs here, INCL. that horrendous 25% VAT so with that in mind the advance they put those FX’s over there is nothing short of Robbery.
Think about it; A Beluga without the damned VAT goes for a bit over 1000$ at retail. You think AOA has to pay retail for each of those thousands of FX’s they buy annually? A wild quess is : Hell No!
They want to create a hype – an Aura – over the brand and so they seem to have accomplished that.
Bottom line : FX = a workmanlike, good Rifle. An icon of a Rifle/ Brand it is not.

I live in Sweden but i am not Swedish. Born and raised in Finland. I moved to Sweden at the age of 23 or so, some 22 years ago, after an European Tour that lasted about four years. England, Spain, Portugal and Canary Island Tenerife has had the honour to be hosts during that Tour 😉

I have a question that has been unanswered for a long time. I have too ask. You are from Sweden,
FX is made in Sweden. You should have been proud to have a fine piece of fine engineering made right in your backyard. Why did you despised FX? If Johnny from Sweden knows that you disliked FX, he would have given you a private phone call!!!
I remember back in the days when Johnny from Sweden was a member of the Yellow. He was the Ambassador to FX airguns. He thinks FX airguns are the only one that float on water. He was the go to guy when someone needs help with their FX. Steve gave him the :butkick: and now Steve himself is the FX ambassador, but without the technical knowledge.
FX guns are sold here in the US at a remarkable price. Its price is right up there with all the high end gun such as Theoben, Daystate and other high end manufactures. I do not mean to brag, but I owned 2 FX. Both of my FX shoots ok, nothing special. In my humbled opinion, I do not think the build quality can compare to Theoben or Daystate but I have to give thumps up for their marketing strategy.
I wonder how are the prices of FX in Sweden? I would think they are cheaper than in the US due to lack of import Tax.?.
People in general are curious. If there are controversial in opinions, they are curious and wants to know. Some will buy the product and have first hand knowledge.
