EdGun Matador .25 Shorty has arrived!!!

It smooths out after awhile. The right way for an American to shoot is weak side cocking. Hand always on the fire control. It will be much easier to cock it with the weak hand.
Yeah I’m loving the factory setting and will leave it I’m just one of those guys who likes to have everything I need just in case, I’m an airgun “Prepper” . I will put a 2-3k pellets through it and report back. Does the cocking bolt smooth out after awhile like the Vulcan? It’s a little stiff, I know the Matador is not a sissy gun a takes a little pull to cock it but was curious if maybe a little silicone oil on the bolt/indexing internals could help? And what is the red looking lube on the hammer? It’s right at the top of the hammer where the hammer meets the valve.
Don’t touch it for 2k rounds. Don’t test the regulator, don’t pull the gun apart basically leave it alone. I think it should shoot around 900-915 after it’s broke in. You know I was going to sell regulator testers on my website and some very knowledgeable people talked me out of it. Their reasons were sound. Ed set that regulator at 130 and it is giving you a 6 FPS ES right out of the box. My suggestion is leave it alone. Reg testers are a tool for when something is broken, not to just tinker. That’s my opinion take it or leave it.
Now Hoot: I am holding that last shorty for you, come on son, you know you want it…
Oh I meant to ask you KS if you think my shot strings are within reason? Do you think 930 is shooting to hot or is this a good speed for this gun? What do you prefer just out of curiosity? Its extremely accurate so I guess it’s all good but I just want to insure that I’m not going to stress any of the internals or the valve over a long period of time by pushing the gun to hard. I figured if it’s set up out of the box shooting at this speed then it’s within a normal range for this particular gun.
Thanks KS I’m really loving this Matador and watching your videos kinda helped me make up my mind to buy this over the Taipan Mutant Standard even though I still have plans to get one eventually but I kinda want the Mutant shorty but I want to wait and see what they come out with next. Anyway I hope to receive the o-ring kit from you soon I just got an email from Jaime saying he’s finished with my reg tester and he’s shipping it out tomorrow. I’ll try and get a video posted on here soon and on YouTube of the performance.
Perfect little gun. Even before I became an importer I liked the EDgun the best…I have owned every single bullpup over the last 5 years too. Congrats on the new Shorty
Ok got to run a few strings today and sighted in my scope before I did a little hunting. First string 10 shots. JSB 25.39g. = 930,927,924,926,927,927,921,929,923,929. Second string 10 shots JSB 25.39g. 924,926,928,927,930,923,927,929,927,926. String 3 JSB King Heavy MKll 33.95g. 808,803,801,811,816,801,803,809,811,804. I’m surprised at how tight these strings are and once I had it sighted in and got an idea of how my reg is working I started hunting and it seems like I can’t miss this gun. I’m so freaking happy it’s turning out to be a great hunting rig, I was dropping bird after bird and a few rabbits and I can’t help but smile every time I hear that loud POP when that pellet slams into my prey. I’m headed back out tomorrow and will hook up my scope cam setup to capture some hunting and target shooting.

This last picture is the targets I used to get my scope sighted in I’ll post some pictures and video tomorrow and try to get some better footage and maybe some scope cam hunting. Enjoy!!!
I can just picture you trying to catch your breath as you are typing away in excitement. I think it’s Great! I wish my kids were half as excited as you on Christmas! But then again…. It is an Matador! Good luck with your new EdGun. That’s a pretty awesome piece of work you have there. :8:
I would love to see a comparison. This Short Eddy is looking good, but I think the mutant shorty.25 might be more my style with the whole “quiet” thing. I like my Guns quiet
Dude I will totally get the Mutant in 25cal. when it’s state side. I actually almost bought the Mutant Standard.22 but when I heard the Matador.25 short was the last one I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to finally own my first EdGun and its a Shorty.25 to boot. TalonTunes Tony just made it to easy and so far I’m glad I went with this little hammer.
Very Nice! Looks like the Perfect size and everything. Will be interesting to see how it compares to the .25 mutant
Pippo I totally agree you are correct about the break in time but yes I’m very excited and can’t wait to get her broken in and smoothed out. I’m getting ready to head out to my permission and take her for a spin. All the extras are only if I absolutely need to make any adjustments but what I have found most of the time is that most guns are pretty much set up just right out of the box except for a few guns out there, oh and the trigger because we all like our triggers differently.
Man congrats and I understand your exitement but please calm down, it’s not your first gun.
What other owners do most of the times is shooting the gun just out of the box, no need for extra o – rings, valves, etc, etc.
You have plenty of time to fine tune your setup and going slowly you can actually see what your tuning has done to the gun.
Normally the guns have also some break – in time (matadors apparently 3K of pellets) and earlier adjustments could be somehow misleading.
:2cents:
I’ll run a few strings tomorrow and let you guys know how she’s shooting I was to busy setting her up today and installing the piccatiny rail plus it didn’t arrive till evening so I was already late getting her figured out and setup. I just emailed KS to see if he could sell me a couple extra valve seats in case mine eventually bend or break but was hoping maybe you guys could point me elsewhere if he doesn’t have them. Also I have Jaime sending out my reg tester Monday and KS said he sent my o-ring kit so I’m currently waiting on those couple of items to have all my spares and testing equipment on hand. I fired off a couple shots just to see how she was shooting and checking the noise level and man she really slings that lead I’m hoping it’s not shooting to hot, 900 to 915 would be ideal. It’s a little on the loud side compared to my previous bullpups and I’m trying to source an offset moderator now, KS said he’s still waiting on those and the spare plastic mags to come from Ed I suppose. Anyway if anyone knows a quicker route give me a heads up. Thanks guys.

Man, that is one good looking gun. How do you like the Noise? Is it louder than you expected or vice versa?
