Thanks! And unfortunately, no. Manual focus is possible in photo-mode, but not video-mode. I’ll get it. I think I just need to play around with the distance the camera is from the eye piece.
No, Pat. It’s much “less” than one of those fancy-schmancy Nikkos – a Leapers 4-16x. I, too, am looking into buying a 10x and 20x fixed power scopes. But, I’ll probably hang on to this Leapers, too. From what I can tell, I got a “good one”. Usually, I regret letting my “good ones” go.

Did you put a 6-24X56 Nikko glass on top of your Ed?
I have that one on top of mine. It´s nice but makes the package heavy.
I followed Ed’s advice and bought a fixed power scope.
Next week I’ll try my new MTC Viper 10×44 to decide if stays with the Matador or goes to the FX.

Good video Ted…. Not sure how you’re gonna rectify the parallax and
camera focus but it is doing pretty good the way it is…. The 2 camera setup
helps a lot and I can imagine that the focus on the gun camera should be
somewhere between you and the target which would put the pellet in perfect
focus somewhere down range…
Ok, so when do we get the 200yd video….. I know you have the room at the
ranch….
I got enough footage for two more videos. The first was easy to make because it’s all in real-time with no slomo editing. The next one will be of 100 yard scopecam. And we definitely need to see that in slomo, so it will be a day before I get it up.
This scopecam stuff is not without its obstacles (as if we don’t have enough elements trying to ruin our good groups). The parallax focus and camera focus do not agree. If I focus the camera the reticle bounces around. If I don’t, the image is somewhat blurry.
I’m hoping for a solution…
Until then, I have set up two cameras, so you can see the scopecam, as well as the target cam simultaneously.
Great video and great shooting Ted…. You would never have known you grazed the 1″ twice @ 100yds
without the camera… That was too cool…..

Hehe. This is a farm. Troublemakers and sloths “disappear”. It’s been this way since I was knee-high to a snake. And cats only get a name if they are worth their weight in salt. “Patrol”, “Killer”, and “Fearless” were three of the all-time greats (and all females).

Cropping is what Peter Hathaway Capstick called killing or taking elephants in Africa, when thinning the herds.

I SOLVED the focus issue today. The camera needs to be set to macro in order to focus the crosshairs. Once I did that, it all came into focus. Now, I need to get back to the range and shoot that footage again. It looks infinitely better. You can clearly see the target “splat” at 100 yards.
Too bad there is a 15mph wind….oh well, I’ll go anyway.
