Excellent vid Ted.
You gotta be in the running with that one, very professional 😎

Nice vid Ted.

quote Ted in Madison:

I tried to do a “before” and “after” test. It didn’t turn out worth a hill of beans – sounded the same in both takes. My camera just could not pick up the tuning fork sound. But, my ear could immediately hear the difference, and is substantial. If folks don’t want to believe it can make a difference, that is their prerogative.

All in all, I think the “space” I lost to the depinger “cost” me 1-3 shots. I still get 50 consistent shots at 900-910fps (the depinger did not change the pellet speed one bit). To me, the trade-off was worth it.

No bad Ted, not bad at all….. I can only bet that now you are going to get
questioned about why you did not do a before and after ping test….lol

I really like the heavier tubing idea…..

Good Morning old timer 😀

Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot, nine days
old….lol

Great vid Ted NOT! Its gone!!

Yes, as soon as the record button goes on, the brain turns to porridge and the words seem to come out wrong(in my case anyway!)

I’m currently streamlining the video. I found that I can shave about 30% of the “blah blah blah” out of it. It will be back up in an hour or two.

New video is up. Depinging the Matador – using the “vinyl tubing” method that Mam did last fall. I’m starting to appreciate how much work goes into instructional videos. It’s hard to keep your thoughts together, and talk, and do the work (for the first time ever) all at the same time. If you want a fun drinking game, you can take a hit every time I said the word “reservoir”. Don’t watch the video more than once or you’ll want to hunt me down and kill me. 😆

The vid starts out with the Pyramyd air logo because I also submitted it to their contest. Winner gets a $250 gift certificate – of which 80% of it is sure to fly right over the chrony. 😆

have you tried weighing a batch of pellets and discarding the one’s whose weight is way off tolerance?

mussolini, this is what I found when I tested sorted against unsorted… I
think the fliers we are all experiencing are coming from unsorted
thoughts while applying pressure to the trigger…. If I don’t believe
that I can put 5 shots together at 100yds then, I probably won’t be
able to do it…. We have a way of making ourselves right… A self
prophecy of sorts…

The average for my sorted pellet groups was 1.659″. The second unsorted group average
was 1.331″. I changed my hold and it tightened the groups
considerably. The first set of groups were shot with sorted pellets and the
second was shot right out of the tin so, it seems to me that sorting JSB
Kings does not make my groups any smaller. 😥

Here are the groups from this morning….
Sorted Pellets 24.5-24.6gr

Unsorted Pellets 24.2-24.6gr

Not at 880fps – only at 915fps (so far). But, the pellets that grouped the worst at 50 yards (18.3g @ 3/4″) grouped the best at 100 yards (18.3g @ 5/8″). So, I’m not putting much stock in sorting pellets by weight at this time.

Still, we NEED to figure out how to sort out those 10-20% that do not want to stack up with the rest, don’t we? When I figure it out, I’ll sort the pellets and sell them for $50 a tin. 😆

100 Yard Scopecam video has been added.

I was unable to set up the 2nd camera at the target because there were a couple fellas next to me shooting (not too accurately) their deer rifles.

I did put up a few sub 1″, 10 shot groups today. But, those were done without the scopecam. It’s exhausting on the eyes to take a lot of shots peering at that 2.7″ screen on the back of the camera. It’s for the best, anyway. My goal is not to inflate expectations re: the Edgun. But, 2″ groups I can still accomplish on my worst day with that gun.

The next video will explore those cursed “fliers”. I mean the really bad ones, not the ones that are a little out of the group. I kept shooting and shooting until I got some on video. They defintely sounded different that a normal flying pellet – whizzing and humming. I’ll slow down the video so we can have a look. The strange part was that I deliberatly put the bent skirt pellets into the chamber, expecting flyers, but did not get them. They seem to be almost completely random. One in every 20-50 shots – depending on that particular tin.
