Q:

Fao of ed regarding beech stocks on edguns

Hi ED Regarding a long process where lads are paying a hell of a lot if cash for your products, can u confirm that you have started using the same wood as kalibrgun ie beèch on your guns sold in Europe as there’s many many lads now over the last year receiving what can only be described as cheap wood what would only be fit to be sent for painting rubberising call it what you will . Your guns are priced as a premium gun one the most expensive bullpups out there after complaints to you about this you have promised some lads replacement stocks (which they still havnt received surprise suprise) any how after many threads going no where with your so called suppliers/enthusiasts arguing the case I thought I’d ak u to explain I await your reply to confirm this or your suppliers are just taking the piss and stating walnut stocks yet selling beech would really appreciate a honest answer on this one as after the dealers have added there mark up on your prices these really are expensive lads deserve to know weather the buying beech or walnut can u reply so YOUR. Reply can be added to the owners group on Facebook and end the edgun vs cricket arguments what’s been going round in circles for best part of a year now

Seems to me… As an onlooker.. That the Russian walnut being currently used , bears little resemblance to the walnut people expect or are used too…

Hell. Even if they ( vendor ) did it, what’s the point ? They’d have to have the tooling to do it and then what. What would they do with the original stock. I assume the stock is specific to that action only. I call bullshit. I’m quite sure Ed is not behind it and risking his Rep. That would make absolutely zero sense !!

People who are making claims that he is using Beech instead of walnut post pictures here to prove it or stop saying it.

If you are going to make such a claim you better have the evidence for it.

all this talk of beech – sounds like rival gun makers shit-stirring. :1:

Zen that one we have seen recently on Facebook was definitely beech not walnut.
Photo is deleted now so can’t upload here but it’s only matter of time…

I saw that pic on fb, i don’t even know how can you tell with just a pic what kind of wood is used!! You didn’t consider the lighting or the angel the picture was taking from and here you are very much sure it is beech, what an expert assumption!!!
I will post a photo of my gun can you please tell me what it is??

In the mind of the forum members ( it doesn’t matter what people are discussing about) quite often the reality is confused with the dreams. Like a man, who has experience of building small barn at his plot of land easily will advise how to organize the skyscraper building process, the other man, who few times split wood for his fireplace being absolutely sincerely consider himself as an expert in determining the kind of wood for making guns stocks.

No one conceal that there are different kind of walnut for making stocks. Walnut of so called ordinary kind usually is used fro PCP rifles’ stocks. Its characteristics meet the requirements of PCP guns stocks.

If we will talk about the emotion, esthetic etc., no problem to place an individual order for making any stocks from the walnut of higher kind, so the price will be different, you should understand it.

The same shape of the walnut stock can differ in price based on the different kind of walnut used for making it. It can be 3, 5 or 10 times more expensive. The maximum I saw was 600 times more expensive.

Lovely walnut on the Vulcans

quote Ed:

The stocks are walnut, would appretiate if those who claim they are beech proove it. Otherwise that is just specualtion about nothing.

For those who know Ed, speculation about nothing is, really nothing more than nothing.

Better show the proof asap, if there is any, otherwise no proof will only prove that somebody tried to do something that does no work to Ed and to his clients.

Marco.
