Q:

Fao of ed regarding beech stocks on edguns

Hi ED Regarding a long process where lads are paying a hell of a lot if cash for your products, can u confirm that you have started using the same wood as kalibrgun ie beΓ¨ch on your guns sold in Europe as there’s many many lads now over the last year receiving what can only be described as cheap wood what would only be fit to be sent for painting rubberising call it what you will . Your guns are priced as a premium gun one the most expensive bullpups out there after complaints to you about this you have promised some lads replacement stocks (which they still havnt received surprise suprise) any how after many threads going no where with your so called suppliers/enthusiasts arguing the case I thought I’d ak u to explain I await your reply to confirm this or your suppliers are just taking the piss and stating walnut stocks yet selling beech would really appreciate a honest answer on this one as after the dealers have added there mark up on your prices these really are expensive lads deserve to know weather the buying beech or walnut can u reply so YOUR. Reply can be added to the owners group on Facebook and end the edgun vs cricket arguments what’s been going round in circles for best part of a year now

Mine is walnut 100%

The stocks are walnut, would appretiate if those who claim they are beech proove it. Otherwise that is just specualtion about nothing.

same here, when i buy my edgun it be from ed directly. i trust ed when he tells me it be walnut. you can’t blame ed if the importers are switching the stocks. :angrymob:

I thought the majority of Edguns were Beech stocks I haven’t seen many walnut stocks πŸ˜€

I can only comment on my EDguns obviously, but they all have walnut stocks :2cents:

I do order from Ed direct and have always got what I paid for, just as it should be really.
I can’t comment on any importers as I haven’t used any, I do prefer dealing with Ed directly as I prefer it that way. Personal preference, nothing more.

The importer should be looking out for the customer I think

Man the more I read the more I say thank god we have Tony as our importer.

Maybe u could tell EU traders what are selling edguns with beech stocks and paying for walnut

Sorry if my English isn’t god and I explain things in a manner people don’t understand me, but what I was saying I DON’T USE BEECH for maknig stocks.

Sounds like you got someone swapping out stocks …. with inferior beech stocks.

Not good.

We use only walnut. But I never told that I guarantee that it will be absolutely perfect, with very interesting textures, as it is different in blanks. Thus, yes, I admit that one can get very beutuful stock, the other can get ordinary. I never choose which one to send to some specific customer.

So, that is the technical reglament of precessing the stocks:

Standard processing of EDgun stocks:

1. Tinting 01Π‘LΠ’03538F diluted 1:3 with solvent β„–646.
2. Drying 24 hours.
3. Impregnation with 00SO50.
4. Drying 24 hours, and polishing with grain β„–240,320.
5. One layer of oil 00SO30 (40 gloss or 20 gloss.
6. Drying 24 hours and polishing with grain β„–180,240.
7. Finishing layer of oil 00SO30.
8. Drying 24 hours.

Tinting, impregnation and oil by MAX COLOR.

We used to take so called “american walnut” I didn’t like it as it was too boring πŸ™‚ Now we use walnut from south of Russia, Dagestan region.
