Q:

Flat shoting combo SR12 reticle and 25 acp cast bullet

I have been working with Handloads.com and Hawke Ballistic calculator for a good coyote size hunting zero.

I choose a somewhat modest 910 FPS altho I have hit as high as 945 FPS.

With a 80 yard zero I have a aiming point for 55 70 and 80 yards, and as you can see it very flat shooting at those distances.

At 185 yards, the furtherest aiming point, the bullets is still traveling with the same energy and veleocity as the 25 ACP has at the muzzle.

At 200 yards it is the equivilant of a 25 King at 1050FPS at the muzzle.

Sorry for the poor quailty photo’s I am computer illerate when it comes to posting site info.
These are in ten yard intervals out to 100 yards.

Good deal RC. The time and brainpower you guys put into this sport makes me jealous but thankful! One day, when my “team” has “flown the nest”, perhaps I will have more time 😥 😉

Awesome info and research RC. I really like that HAWKE reticle and the software.

Your info pretty much prooves what my buddy sais about when he was shooting them in his BEAUMONT. But he was pushing them over 1000 fps+. I had a chance to shoot that gun quite a bit and it could punch stuff out pretty far…..WOW. For a Roundnose, those bullet do a number on small game.

910 FPS is nothing to sneeze at for sure with that weight bullet

Yamaha,

If it never got better than this, I could live with it.

But I have not even tried sizing the bullets yet, and due to the difficulty chambering them, I am sure that once I size them they will be more consistant.

Would I do it again and spend the money to get this level of performance, absolutely.

Looks like you are getting things dialed in with your new .25 acp molds. So are you satisfied with how your new round is working out so far? Or are you going to try and make it better? 😉
