So are we humans … And no – i´m neither a hippy nor an animal rights nut.
I would never be able to shoot a Fox. I think they´re very intelligent and very dog-like creatures and i love dogs – more than most humans. Same goes for Wolves too. I´m sentimental i know .. 😥
They is no denying they are a loverly animal to look at. Shame they are evil surplus killers.
Knifemaker,
That is a great picture of a grey fox. It brings back childhood memories of my pet grey fox. Fifty years ago a mother fox had a litter of babies in a road side culvert but got herself ran over. A concern person retrieved the youngsters and found homes for them. One found their way into my home at about one week old. We had a mother cat with a litter of kittens the same age. I was able to mix the fox with the kittens that allowed the mother cat to accept and nurse the fox as one of her own. Her name was Snoopy. Long story short she thought she was a cat and as the story goes grey foxes are great tree climbers just not so graceful at coming down.
I think I would find it a great pleasure to have that fox hunt along side myself even if she was into retrieving for herself. Then again you can look to it as this fox has great respect for you as a squirrel hunter knowing you are a provider thus tagging along. Anyway cute pictures and thanks for kindling some lost memories. Give your little buddy a name and you will be less tempted to shoot it in the future. It’s what I have done with the bucks around my place, l love to hunt and love venison but the bucks around my house get a pass.
Oh Hell No!
Now, back to the topic. I don’t “Hunt” fox much. Why? Because I have one that is a damed fine squirell dog! Here She is on my shooting bench. (Pic nick table) Waiting for me to come out and shoot for a while. She loves to watch! Only trouble is, every time I shoot a squirrel, she grabs it and takes off. So neither one of us get any dumplings with it! 👿
Some times she goes to sleep right beside my bench. But the LDC still wakes her up on the .257,. 😆
At least I don’t have to “Hunt Her”, I pretty well know exactly where she will be When I’m out and about with the AG. 😉
Well said, Rabbit229!
There’s no reason to ridicule an honest question from a forum member. Those who responded impolitely, were once every bit as stupid as you are now, if not more stupider!
Remember, fellow forum swine, and swinelets, we all started from ignorance. Only after asking questions did we ascend to our current level of enlightenment.
My personal advice regarding this matter is to shoot the fox in the ass. Try for an ass-hole shot, if possible. My own target of choice is a “nut shot”…difficult, but possible if the light is right! It’s not necessary to kill a predator, 12 ft lbs of energy is just enough to remind them there is a price to pay for their intrusion. This same advice follows when sports shooting adulterers, thieves, pedophiles, Democrats, Attorneys, car thieves, Liberals, Entitlement-oriented minorities, and the occasional cock-sucker who wanders into your kill zone in a drug induced haze.
Will everyone feel this way? No, sad to say…there are those who differ. To wit, and to which, I say “Fuck ’em if they can’t take a joke!”
As one of the few educated individuals on this digital Sodom and Gomorrah, I remind you the bible says “Thou shalt not kill!” Now, I’ve never met this fellow “Thou”, but I do feel it’s good advice on a general level for all of us. Plus, there is no commandment that specifically states “Do not butt shoot those so entitled!”.
So, go forth dear Rabbit229, and take the ass shot from the rear…because if your pellet falls short, you just might nail him in the balls!
Best regards, and apologies for those less indulgent than myself…
Kindly, and saintly, ‘Ol Uncle H 😯 😯 t
Right on!
BTW – a week or so ago i was cruising down the Toad Suck Boulevard minding my own business when i saw this secret Democratic society having their own congress in a barn on the road side. The leader for this clan had a remarkable resemblance and looks of your Avatar… This leads me to a conclusion our dear Uncle isn´t really as much against the left wing movement as he wants us to believe he is.
I think deep inside there´s a Democratic, albeit liberal, Attorney trying to get out.
What do you have to say for yourself ??
What? A Fox with eye-liner? It has to be a two legged one then, Nomad. 😉
In that case my advice is to take on her using the Caveman approach: Pick the one you desire, whack her down and use the corps for your bizarre needs before it gets cold. Throw the carcass away after the rigor mortis kicks in (or it will just resemble a common wife) …
…. Nevermind…. I skimmed it too fast missed all that…
Sorry yall… Maybe he should stick with feral pigeons. My bad Pirate, I enjoyed reading your posts on pig hunts.

Because he’s located in the UK, his gun can not exceed 12 ft/lbs. So the question that they are discussing… can a Matador that is tuned to 12 ft/lb do the job.
You guys saying he can’t kill it with a .22 edgun? That’s bull, put that pellet in the skull and see. You don’t have to be an expert to get rid of a pest, just use common sense.
Normadpirate, I don’t hunt for pigs, but I know they are harder to kill than a fox. So your games are different. Foxes are easy to kill. They are no different than a racoon or possom . No need to go ape wild on a big caliber, a .22 is just fine and dandy.

I’m with you. Only take them out when they become issue with livestock or people due to overbreeding. Other than that I let them hunt and enjoy the area.
I leave squirrels and Jacks that I shoot for them to eat.
