Q:

FX Impact and problems, Not me

There seems to be a few good ones out there, and I am talking a few,
I think the FX Impact was a rushed design, or just a bad design, Seems like there is a large amount of these guns that have got major problems.
I know , I know Ted did this and that with his Impact, But Yea, I would buy Teds gun for the same price, A one off, blue printed Impact,
Now people will say there are some good designs out there,
But, Me I would not buy a FX anything,
Just to many better guns ( I think) In the lower and even same price range,
I will also be posting this on AGN and see how long it last,

This guy is funny, Come look at my Hayabusa, You say yea looks all stock, No blueprints, Well tear into the engine and you will see
the parts are all blueprinted, Pistons , Cams are special grind, Now take the seat off and look at the Ecm and you , Well you cant see it but its all been reworked for more H/P,and I could go on and on,
Did Ted let you take his gun apart? Like walking up to my brothers AR 15 and saying yep looks stock to me, Shit even with Xray vision you could not see all the shit that he has done to this gun.
Your just a funny guy,
I do really hope you like your FX guns,
Mike

quote Leadbetter:

Sure would be nice if others went along who shoot brands other than FX  maybe see how Russian and Czech space magic competes against Swedish space magic 😛

I’m prepping as you speak…let’s see how this new huma reg/power plenum tunes up, tomorrow. Gonna take some work, but I’m predicting this setup shooting JSB heavies through the .25 Matador long, is going to be a force to be reckoned with. If I can match the accuracy of the 25g and combine it with the ballistic advantage of the heavies, “Bar the door Katy”…gonna be a smack down @ EBR 2018. :8:

Not really sure why every year we read all kinds of post about EBR being on the up & up. This year I really didn’t see any EBR conspiracy posts unless I missed something. So why are we seeing these post now? Attendence hasn’t drop, I’ve been told it has increased. Maybe FX sales have dropped following the match? Seems there are always some newbs that see the results and go out and purchase the winning rifle 😛

Most of claims against EBR being on the up & up have been made. Many haven’t been disproven. Maybe this is why? Maybe the results we see from similar matches in Europe cause doubt? One can’t ignore the fact that 25 FX guns competed against a handful of crickets, Thomas, raw, and Tims rifles.

Like was posted above, the crown so far hasn’t seemed to have had the teething issues that we saw with the bobcat, wildcat, and impact. Nor does it look like a beluga  and FX isn’t calling this rifle a bullpup The crown seems to be in line with the royale series, which ive owned! While not my favorite gun by any means it was a solid preformer.

In before some say go shoot in the match yourself!I enquired about competing some years ago , but was given many different answers on equipment restrictions. At this point I’ve decided I still may take a trip to Mesa or Apache junction or wherever it’s held. Sure would be nice if others went along who shoot brands other than FX  maybe see how Russian and Czech space magic competes against Swedish space magic 😛

I don’t want to sound like an FX fan boy, but it is the gun i enjoying shooting the most right now. There where a shit ton of FX guns (at least 10 impacts) shooting at EBR this year and at least 15 of them whom places in the top 25 spots where FX guns and the scores where all pretty close, where they all hand picked? Shit and TED’s hand crafted, specially made, perfect gun didn’t win, didn’t even come in fourth. Like spinj preaches all the time its not the gun but the shooter, and we all have good and bad days. I was even happy to see a .25 Cal Cricket there doing well. The FX impact’s have had more than there share of issues, shit the Crown may suffer from the same fate, but haven’t heard any complaints in the first month so who knows. But i’ve had quite a few guns and the only one that didn’t give me any issues out of the box was my Air Arms s510.

He personally inspected Ted equipment 😛

Dear Bent Brain,

I hope you enjoy your Impact. :8:

As I stated originally, I would concede if someone would present undeniable proof….
1) I was at Extreme Benchrest this year, and overheard Ted talking about his Impact. He didn’t know anyone was listening. So, now I can tell you what is special about his Impact over all the others.
2) I had a chance to talk to Ted directly and carefully worded my questions so he would disclose the differences without knowing it. So, now I can tell you what is special about his Impact over all others.
3) On a separate occasion, I had a chance to talk with Frederik of FX and discussed the early Impacts (Ted’s in particular) and the changes that were made since then. So, now I can tell you what is special about his Impact over all others.
4) I had a chance to hold and look at Ted’s rifle. His barrels were out and I had a chance to look through those as well. So, now I can tell you what is special about his Impact over all others.
5) On a separate occasion, I asked the staff at AoA what was special about Ted’s rifle. So, now I can tell you what is special about his Impact over all others.
Here it is, I hope you’re all ready for this… The shroud is a little longer. Nothing else. There is nothing special. Nothing is “blueprinted” special. It’s a regular early edition Impact with a smooth twist barrel and nothing at all special about it. It’s got visible imperfections on the outside and has never been UPDATED to the current standards. I capitalized UPDATED because if anything is different about his rifle her the others, it’s the fact that it does not have the latest parts or equipment. That makes it a LESSER performing rifle than current models, not a better performing rifle. Why does his shoot so well? Let me spell it out for you, read the next sentence very slowly so you can have a chance at understanding.
They guy is a terrific shooter, who puts the time in, to learn his rifle, his environment, and his equipment, in order to win. Review the video where he states this. Review the video where he states how he won EBR last year.
I have provided 5 different ways to disprove this “blueprint” OPINION. I have retorted to all of your “speculative” ideas. I will give you credit that some of them are very creative!
Now, have your temper tantrums where you act like children and call me names. Go on! That’s all you can do anymore. You have nothing to back up this false opinion now, and you have had nothing to back up this false opinion this whole time.

Its not only the Impacts its also the other FX guns that seem to have a lot of problems,
Just a simple look it up, And also a tell tall sign is the number of used guns on the market,
I does not take a genies to figure it out,,,,
Mike

If I had one I would send it to Earnest for a super tune..
But that’s just me.

My buddy just bought a FX Impact in .25 cal. He only has around 50 shots through it so we’ll see how it goes.

Wow , did I start this, As a tester of motorcycle parts and tests , If you think a parts manufacture is going to grab a part of the assembly line and have me test it and write a report about it to the internet , Your crazy, I get a special part shined and fitted and blue printed to be 100 %
best there is, Its just the way it works,,, Maybe air guns are different, I drought it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have dealt with lots and lots of company’s and lots of different parts, Its just putting your best foot foreword,
Nothing wrong with it, Its just the way things are, Suck it up people.

Only the first few are the best? I’ve watched, and experienced, quite the opposite in the real world time and time again.

Why are you putting them all in one bag? That is very unfair, is a majority everyone to you? According to your theory Trump must have gotten 100% of americas votes because he won. Not a very good theory is it? If 6/10 vote yes, that is the majority, but not 10/10…..

quote BentSkirt:

That would suggest that Ted’s rifle is actually a lesser design

Oh yeah, because a different plate where you fill the gun is a huge improovment, and a Mil-spec rail, and new set screw for the probe in a different material. Huge upgrades that makes the hand made prototype inferiour to the mass produced Impacts made by the unualified people FX had to hire in order to keep up with demand. Just look at AOA’s video tour of FX factory and you see a greasy haired teenager trying to assemble a Impact
