Q:

Gauge to fill with for accuracy

In order to not overfill my Talon’s tank with the Airforce Gauge does anyone here recommend a better more accurate gauge adapter to connect my Talon and Condor’s tank while filling up on my SCUBA as opposed to just filling the Airforce gauge to 2600psi?

I filled it up to 3000 and it clocked from 921 upper 800’s to all of a sudden 600 and at one point 400 😯

So I took a dime and placed it in the Airforce adapter and screwed the Talon’s tank in on top of it to bleed off a little air. This worked ok and then the fps jumped right back up to 800’s.
So I was wondering what gauge would be a decent honest reading for filling the sweet spot.

Right.. I was thinking of that,in fact the SCUBA shop also might have some knowledge of calibration and quality of my gauge. Actually the Paint ball shop was willing to fill my tank to 3000. The SCUBA shop guy didn’t want to fill my tank all the way to 3000 because of his large compressor. He was afraid it would push it too hard!! 😮
He said he could be wasn’t going to. It is a old shop so Im thinking he must have aold compressor. Can you beleive that?! He didn’t want to push it that hard. The paint ball guy didn’t have a problem with it.

D.F. try this, go to the scuba shop with your clamp and ask them to fill your tank to 3K., then connect your clamp and bottle, compare your guage to the shops (which i’m guessing, have to be calibrated/tested)guage. If it stops at 3K, your go to go. HTH

Oh yeah… I have tried to use my camera with other scopes. It never seemed to work as good mainly because the lens of my camera didn’t fit into the rear scope lens cover the way it fits into the bug busters rear cover. And one thing I noticed also was that other scopes also had different magnifications that also didn’t look as well at the time but maybe that was also because the lens didn’t fit together as nice as the Bug buster too.
So I guess just try and rig something maybe even if you have to go to the hardware store and use a piece of PVC pipe or what ever you can use to block out light from the sides so you can close your view from light entering the side.
Thats what might do it for anyone who is messing with it.
Please share your pictures.
I was also hoping someone could tell me about lights if there is someone using them indoors. 8)

Use PSP, P-CS4, Elements, etc.” What?
I don’t understand what this is. Can you tell me more. But I do know one thing. My Camera wouldn’t zoom quite as close because the Scopes lenses are working with the Camera’s lens and that is also part of the picture weather the hairs are there or not. And the little shot at dusk with the hairs lit a bit…etc..
It was just something that worked for what I was doing. As we can see I got some shots that were worth looking at. But I would like to know more about Use PSP, P-CS4, Elements, etc. What is this?

I do have a question about Chroney’s as a matter of fact…. 😆
I want to build and rig a cool set up for my garage so I can clock at home before I go to the field in the event I don’t want to take all that to the field. So I was going to look into lights. Then I started thinking maybe I can get mounts and rig my own lights. 💡 Maybe I could use a fish tank light top from a pet store? Those lights advertised for Chronys in the add don’t seem to be any special lights. They even look about the same speed as the lights used on fish tanks. Anyone here use lights indoors? What kind of lights are you using. Maybe they would be good to buy and it would save me from building a light fixture too though….
Anyone using lights have a picture of your set up?
🙂

Very cool shots! I have an Olympus 5060z. I think the lens will fit right into the back of the scope…but it’s bulky. At any rate, very nice pics!

quote get the blue jay:

how do you take them, they’re defiantly the clearest pics I’v seen taken through a rifle scope

Cheat!
An easy effective way would be to first take a great picture, then place a cross hair layer on top of said picture. Use PSP, P-CS4, Elements, etc.

Or maybe you could change it to Chrony minus DragonFlySlayer and his idiotic crap 😆

I shoot the Pictures with a Olympus C-700. They are very nice cameras that are not made any more but maybe you can find one used on Ebay. The Lens of the C-700 just happens to fit perfect in the rubber flip lid of my Leapers Bug Buster 6X32. It’s a small scope but It mixes well with the lens of the C-700. I zoom the C-700 in and out until I get a good light exposier and the lens in the camera is not clashing with the lens in the scope and I hold it steady then hit it.

Then after a batch of shots there is keepers and the ones that didn’t come out right or clear.

I’ll move it to General CHAT for you Dragon.. lol
