Q:

Get rid of hammer slap???

Ok so I hear this brass piece here is what makes the slap, when you fire your Vulcan.
So what if we were to use a piece of felt, that you put on the bottom of a chair leg.
That has a peel and stick on the felt bottom.

Just peel and stick, the felt on the brass piece, cut it to fit, and get rid of the hammer slap?? 🙄
What do you guys think? Lets brain storm.

Sound seems to be more spring twang than hammer slap. Thinking a springer type tune of a spring guide and maybe some tar might help.

Doesn’t matter what it looks like , as long as it performs properly is all that really matters , other wise it’s just a piece of bleeding garbage .

I think the twang lasts to long to be just the main hammer spring 💡
Could it not be the Cocking Lever Spring #111 ❓
Could someone that has theirs apart dry fire while holding slight pressure against each of the 2 springs #111 and then #108 ❓ maybe touch with a rubber eraser ❓
Could they be interacting with one another ❓

I did this to both of my crickets and it help a bit and it’s also easy to do.

Guys, please make sure that when discussing about getting rid of strange noises dealing with the firing mechanism of your guns to correctly use in context the words “hammer,” “slap,” “(t)wang,” and “cocking” as they may confuse the nympho-airgunner, although experienced and brilliant, and unintentionally make him provide feedback about something else. 🙄

In Chinese it’s called the PHO KUNG POW slap. I’m Asian, I should know. 😆

I think Asian parents name their kids after hammer slaps, just an off topic observation. I don’t know what kinda hammer slap yielded Greg though :biggrinn:
