Q:

Getting a new bullpup, Can’t decide!

So I am getting a new .22 bullpup and the candidates are Cricket and Vulcan. It seems to me that the Cricket is more accurate? And also quiet, but if I can get a hold of a Donny LDC then the Vulcan should be quiet too. So what do I do? I pm Donny but he has not replied yet, the thing is I live in Sweden so I’m not sure he will ship it or not.

What I want is:
* Quiet as in backyard friendly
* Accurate

That’s about it

What do you guys say?

Yep!

The vulcan rifle tactic is around 85 cm long . Still shorter than the wildcat and bobcat. 🙂

No problem. Guns being the same size regardless the cal is a two edged sword : Small size is good but so is a good shot count. That suffers when a .25 is of the same size than a .177. And then there’s the noise that seems to be an issue.

Ville, thank you for clearing that up about All Vulcans being the same size regardless of the caliber. I didn’t know that, what i do know is the cricket gets longer and heavy as you go up in caliber so its a bigger gun. I know the Bobcat and the wildcat also go up in size depending on the caliber. I did not know that the vulcan line of guns stayed the same length. I know that i know this, I understand the reference to size when comparing a .22 Cal vulcan to a .25 cal wildcat. Got it. Since all that is true then to avoid confusion they should of just said for those of us whom didn’t know, that the New vulcan rifle in .25 cal is the same size as or smaller than a .25 Wildcat or .25 Bobcat. Thanks again.

A longer barrel gives you a couple of more shots all other things being equal. The difference is maybe 5-6 shots/fill at its best.

Vill just hypothetical if Vulcans cal.25 were equipped with longer barrel let´s say with same length as cricket cal.25 would be possible get more shots from them ?
I suppose we stay with same airtube. Now it is not a design point 🙂 Then we would get better shot count because air would be more efficient. Less regulator pressure… Is that right?

That’s cute Ville, in my limited experience i’ve never known two airguns with the exception of the Impact being the same size .22 vs .25? My only point is you are going to compare two rifles size in reference as whom is bigger, smaller, or the same size then you should do that comparison on the same calibre gun. I recall you telling someone not to long ago when as about which gun kicks more………22 or .25 you you stated something to the fact that .25 is bigger so it will kick more, physic. The vulcan rifle was stated to be the same size as the .25 wildcat or bobcat. But if you read deeper it says shooting 18.1 JSB’s. I would of assumed after reading the ad if not noticed or known 18.1 JSB is .22 I would of thought the Vulcan rifle .25 is just as small as the .25 bobcat or wildcat. That was my whole point. I would like a smaller gun bullpup or carbine I know exactly how big the bobcat .25 is and know i don’t want to go bigger than that, and the vulcan would appear to be slightly bigger.

Of course a .25 is bigger than a .22. Not the gun itself but the projectile. To get the larger and heavier pellet upto speed more energy behind is needed. And the more energy behind the more the gun moves. Simple physics. All Vulcan BP’s are the same size as are all the Carbines – no matter what cal. So where are you trying to get at ?
If there’s only one size Gun, regardless the caliber , on the AGN line-up while ie BobCat,WildCat and Impotent gets bigger the bigger bore it has then how exactly do you want them to be compared in “size of the gun in the same caliber “. You lost me.

They’re all the same size – as are the Vulcan Bullpups.
What’s missleading , Mr Genuine Whine ?? 😉

Hey Sam63, be careful with that Vulcan Rifle ad, it is mis leading. They compare the size to a .25 Cal wildcat or Bobcat making it seem relatively small, but its misleading because they are comparing a .22 cal vulcan rifle with a .25 cal of a FX gun. They should of compare there Vulcan .25 to the .25 wildcat or something, and I don’t know what it says about the company, but it strikes me as deceitful.

Yep, the .25 Vulcan Rifle will be my next airgun. But I have no use for one now, perhaps by the time I do there will be a second generation with all the bugs worked out (if it has any) but I wont get one until I live in a place with a bigger yard than 25m

He´s located in Sweden so those US prices help him very Little. Then again, the Vulcan Carbine cost about the same than the BP here as well. Was i after a .25 cal airgun i´d most probably choose the Carbine.

I want a .22 not interested in a .177

The vulcan rifle is most likely out of my price range, the bullpup itself is pricey so what doesn’t the rifle cost?

What does the rifle cost?

Vulcan rifle is listed for $1550. How much is a new Cricket or Vulcan pup?
