Q:

Getting rid of cats

Our neighbors behind us have a male cat that keeps coming over meowing, spraying our bushes, chasing squirrels away, etc. and it is driving me crazy. I would like to do something to this cat to keep it from coming back in our yard, but don’t know what I should do to keep him away. Any suggestions on a way I could humanely keep this cat away?
Thanks,
Tyler

LMAOAY!

Wow! I thought that I wouldn’t have to deal with anymore
airgun advice types on this forum. That’s right. I remember
you from ignorant redneck central (airgun advice). So your
coments are moot to me. You had me going there for a
while. I thought that you were a real poster, voicing real
opinions and views but now I know better.

Human aggressive pit bulls should all be shot, no rehab for them.
True, I wasn’t there. I only question your story due to your not getting your story straight, which casts doubt over the whole story.

“I ran to the living room and grabbed my Condor”
“The gun was 3 feet away and the window was open.”

You would have to be 14 inches tall to do that.

Pit bulls are 100 times less likely to bite, but are 100 times more likely to kill you if they do. Real pit bulls do not bite people. Human aggressive pits need to die.

You obviously have not delt with aggressive pitbulls before.
I have many times in my pest control business. When you
yelled at this dog (and others like him), he didn’t run. When
you would yell at this one he would speed up his pace toward
you and give you this weird look like you want to start
something, Ill finish it. Only this time he met his match and
I finished it.

There always seems to be some guy out there who was not there
and knows nothing about the situation or what he is talking about
yet has to tell everybody what they should of done.

I agree. Here in Oregon it is common knowledge dogs/cats that harass livestock will be shot. I have a story about that but now’s not the time or place (non-airgun related).
I think he had every right to shoot the dog if it came onto his property. I also think we aren’t getting the whole story there as it seems to change. Had it been me I would have immediately run into the yard yelling and screaming to get the dogs attention away from my kid before anything else. Your lucky it killed the dog instead of just royally pissing it off; then your daughter would have been in more danger if he thought it came from her.
PETA? HAHAHA those guys suck hard. And haven’t you heard? PETA will kill a pit bull whether it’s bothering anyone or not. Every chance they get.

So you are saying that I should of ran 20 yards to the door,
40+ yards to my daughter, grab her and carry her back the
40+ yards to the house while fighting the pitbull off. Go in the
house, go 20 yards and then grab my gun and shoot instead
of just going 3 feet grabbing my gun and shooting. Wow, I’m
glad that you were not watching my kids that day. Your argument
sounds like one from ignorant redneck central (airgun advice).

Gents; As a farm boy growing up I saw lots of livestock lost to neighbor’s dogs. If we saw these animals on our property they were dispatched without remorse. There was even a program to pay livestock owners to pay for losses due to errand ‘pets’ that did damage. It was paid for through pet licensing at the county level.

As far as destroying so called ‘pets’ that venture on to your property, you have the right to protect your property. If you don’t think so join the ranks of PETA. Your rights are more precious than that of a cat or dog. AKULA

Wow you must be really short to run a distance of three feet…getting deep in here.

Grab my daughter first? What sense would that of made?

My daughter was out the door and 40+ yards away.
The gun was 3 feet away and the window was open.

Shoot the dog! It was the only resonable thing to do.
If you had been there you would have realized it right away.

Do you own a 9mm or .45 bigbore?
They might be a bit much for a cat; possibly able to break a rib so I wouldn’t use them on a cat.
Now a problem dog, or a raccoon you could shoot it in the ass with one of these. They are very lightly built and I doubt they would penetrate or break bones; just deter the animal.
Might even kill a squirrel with a head shot if you were close enough.

Pit Bulls are the greatest and yea that methhead is the one who should be shot. Though your story makes it sound as if the dog wasn’t much of a threat, as you made no mention of getting your daughter out of harms way before grabbing your gun.

whoops

DH you are the man! 😈

TX: The easiest way to get someones attention is through their pocket book! Get a humane trap and take that furball to the pound….It’ll cost the owner to bail out the cat which will catch their attention..especially after a few times…Plus if they don’t bail it out, it either gets adopted by someone somewhere else, or put to sleep “humanly” at which point it definitely won’t bug you again! 8)

Too bad you cant take out the meth dealer!

I have two friends that own pit bulls and they are
nice, well behaved, well treated animals. Not a threat to
anyone decent.
But this dog that I shot had been abused.
I once saw this guy out in his front yard, for everyone
to see, picking this dog up by it’s neck and swinging
it around and throwing it. When I asked him what he was
doing, he told me that he was strength training it and
that it would make him a lot stronger. He was higher than a kite.
I have seen this guy kick his dogs on a lot of different occasions.
This idiot has been bitten by his own dogs several times.

He is in jail right now for beating his wife so bad that
she was in the hospital for a week.

When a dog is abused like that, it could turn on someone.
I’ve seen it happen before.
