Got a new flashlight on the way…
Fenix TK11 R2 Edition.
It should out throw my old 9P by 50 yards or so, though I don’t expect it to actually be usable at 200 meters as advertised. This light will give about 2.5 hours of runtime even on turbo mode. There is also a normal mode at 64 lumens with a runtime of 12 hours on 18650s. I picked up a Fenix red filter for $6 and a Fenix pressure switch is available for $20.
I will report back with what I think of it comparable to the ol’ 9P as a gun mounted light. Looks like a winner so far at the price point and features.

It’s funny seeing so much input on flashlights. I thought I was the only one who cared about shit like that. I’m an outdoors person and hate to find myself fumbling in the dark. Particularly in bear country.
LED technology changed a lot….brighter and with longer battery life
I use a Surefire E1L which I think is absolutely great and the batteries have 10 year shelf life. This light has a piercing beam…unbeleivable for it’s size.
Although it is not a weapon’s light I’ve used it succesfully for nightime pistol shooting in conjunction with a red dot sight.

For an all around inexpensive light…. the LED 2aa maglite is durable with an adjustable beam.

I am own one of this, very good illumination better than wolf eyes, surefire streamlight! Made by t6 alumnium, machined, waterproof, comes with two rechargable battreies, turbo mode 1 h, 60 lumens mode 10 h !

If you were at a gun shop they were probably over-priced. But I consider a great light to be worth $75 or $80.
What makes an airgun worth $500? Just the same, they’re not for everyone.

I got into lights when the incans ruled. Now, led’s are superior and passing them up quickly and getting to be mainstream.
You can go to Lowes and they now carry a Kobalt Led light similar to the Surefire 6P in size, but better, IMO.
It is a forward clicky, which most of us like and a 2 stage light- high and low level.
All that for around $50.
Can’t be beat for the price, IMO.
I’m behind on the new or high dollar flashlights … tactical, self defense … they sound like miniature spot lights.
I’m trying to decide which one to get for my first one … they sound rather useful 🙂

i got a tk10. i use it all the time. very bright. blinds ppl at night. good construction. i’ve got a set of rechargeable cr123a. Recommend that you get a recharging kit going as it pays for itself quickly. On full bright, it lasts only 25 minutes or so before it starts stuttering. I typically only use the full bright so the recharger has been very handy. Probably charge up once every two to three weeks.
One day i’ll buy a second one for the car.

I guess I’m way behind times I was at a gun shop the other day and there were flashlights there that would hold about 2 AA batteries selling for 150-200 dollars…I didnt want to sound stupid so I never asked but..I dont mind asking my bro’s here..what in the hedoublehockeysticks makes one of these worth $200.00???? thanks!
For an every day carry or general use light the P3D is a good one. If you don’t want to spend that much money look into the lower quality, but bright UltraFire lights at DealXtreme. There are hundreds if not thousands of options and it boils down to personal requirements.
If you’ve never used lithium ion batteries I would suggest reading up on safely using them, or getting a light that will work on standard 1.5v batteries or CR123s.
I can recommend lighthound.com and 4sevens.com for high quality lights, batteries and accessories.
Im curious can use guys recommend a good carry flashlight. brightness and battery life would be my main goals. While im asking where are you guys finding the rechargable batteries and chargers? thx ken

i received a light as a gift and have never seen anything like it I have a few of the shurefires ,but this light makes these look like toys. it is a Browning tacital hunter 210 lumen high out put L.E.D VERY LONG RUN TIME and has 3 lens with it. same size as the sure fire Z2 combatlight but 10 times the light AND RUN TIME,check it out you will not be sorry. mike
