Q:

GOT BUSTED BY L.A.P.D TODAY..

Normal day..I headed down to the national park where I usually shoot my condor at, a place where no signs of no fire arms are posted. I started doing fine..poping soda cans from any distance. Soon I heard choppers around me and cop cars…I didn’t mind, u are in L.A. Things like that are common…suddenly I heard: “It’s L.A.P.D, drop your gun and stay at where you are!!!” from some loud speakers..They didn’t see me, next thing I know was two fully armored cops pointing their Beretta 92FS at me..I put my hands up and walked towards them..I was being stuffed and cuffed in the squad car. The cops started heading down to the station and met up with like 8 other squad cars at the a road block with cops armed with scoped m4s, m16s and 12 gauges…u name it…I felt really disturbed the peace.. 🙁 later on I was questioned and one cop mentioned him and his LT were also trying to get the same rifle…I was soon released however with a misdemeanor ticket and my condor staying in their hands for now…whatever…I’m just happy i actually didn’t get booked..Guys, hope you would be careful after hearing my story…really miss the days in Michigan now..days where you can just fire at will… no matter whatever gun u r using…hopefully they can gimme my gun back tomorrow 🙁

Hey guys,

Yeah man. realbull is a troll.

Hey guys,

This is a made-up story from realbull. Please ignore it and move on.

I’m concerned of the misdemeanor ticket. I was an LAPD officer for 12 years. Whether it’s an LAMC or PC code, a misdemeanor means you get a criminal record.

It’s bullshit. They didn’t have to write a ticket. They could have just released you with a warning. Discharging an air rifle in city limits is an LAMC code but it’s such bullshit.

I’m just one of those people that don’t like baggage….getting a criminal rap over this crap is really retarded. Sometimes I wonder what these officers are really thinking of.

Sorry it happened to you dude.

dang still no word. that sucks.

To save money, your police guys should multi-task like ours do….

years ago in Fargo ND some good citizen reported a pipe bomb on the rail road tracks downtown. The Piglet patrol shut down most of downtown and were taking pot shots at the alleged pipe bomb using 12 gauge slugs.
A buddy of mine now retired but a career officer pulled up, examined the pipe bomb with his Binoculars briefly, ordered the children to stand down then walked over and picked the bomb up…a rusty old solid steel box car pin.
The Police Chief wasn’t the least chagrined, went on the boob tube and announced that this was why the City needed to pool up the money for a proper bomb disposal unit
which of course he got at the cost of close to a quarter of a million dollars of tax payer money
all over a chunk of scrap iron on the side of a rail bed

well i regularly walk down road with gun in hand no issues at all
only time i had a MAJOR responce from police the swat car showed and a sherrif and tropper and city cop
i was in line at post office with a pvc pipe with ends glued on with 1377 parts inside for shipping apparantly the Postal worker thought i had a bomb and after i looked back on it yeaah it wasnt such a bright idead

I think any large metro area has a fear of the unknown… Guns being one of them. If you don’t do anything for yourself except commute, work at a desk, shop, and eat… then you’re going to have difficulty understanding why airguns and 50 yard shots are a fun sport. They’re in the Olympics… not a legitimate sport?

The older I get the more I love these mountians in Eastern Kentucky..

California government or US government, if they think there is gun problem in SoCal and too many murders in this part of the country, should stop dicking around with people in South Central, Compton, East LA etc… all the gang banger areas. These are the folks that cause problems not the hobbyist and for sure not airgunners. Bring in the military there if cops can’t do the job, and do a door to door weapons search and clean up all the illegal firearms that are going in circles in these areas. And stop pretending like they are actually fighting crime. because if you can’t take care of the gang bangers in your backyard, you sure won’t do any good against Taliban in Afghanistan.

Instead they impose tougher crazy laws on law obedient gun owners. Yet is has zero effect on crime prevention in LA area, just the opposite I say, because 99.9% of the crimes committed according to police statistics themselves by illegal, unregistered firearms, and accessories.

realbull has gotten a bad deal if indeed he was charged and jailed. I sure hope people over at NRA find out about this crazy story.

The public opinion in California in general that guns are bad, and airguns are weapons. And I have to sometime correct sales clerks over at Walmart where I sometimes get pellets, that airgun pellets are not ammunition, it is not bullets and these are not guns in the sense that they are thinking.

yeah, this is very sad if he got jailed for this. No news is not a good news for sure. If they gave him probation I think he would tell us… or heck maybe he got scared of the whole and decided to forget about airguns. Can’t blame him if he did. These days in California you can get charged with anything. The state needs money and they are writing speeding tickets like crazy too.

This case is a good case for NRA to take up. On the legitimacy of officers actions. Too bad realbull has vanished. I sure would like to know how it turned out.

Soon they will ask us to register airguns like in some places. That is why Airforce came out with these gay Talon and Condor colors. They see the trend what is happening that these guns can be classified in some states as assault rifles.

I tell you this guys, 5 years ago, my ex girlfriends 18 year old brother and his buddies were shooting CO2 bb pistols in their backyard… They had cops called in on them fast… I mean like in five minutes after they started to pop some soda cans the cops were there. maybe as many as five squad cars showed up and have blocked of the street. it was shocking to see how serious the cops were over this and jumpy.

All the sheriffs did though was they confiscated their CO2 pistols, and told them that if they do it again they will charge them and arrest them for discharging a metal projectile… and that was all over CO2 bb guns. 45 minutes of this mess, all the neighbors have came out 🙂 it was some show. Just think what would have happened if they were shooting the Condor..

well after the overboard response and seizure of the rifle it would not surprise me if he was charged with whatever “violations” of Commiefornia code LAPD could come up with.

2x,

I was wondering the same thing, this is sad if they charged him for shooting in the public.

well after the overboard response and seizure of the rifle it would not surprise me if he was charged with whatever “violations” of Commiefornia code LAPD could come up with.

where who is?

Realbull. He is the one who started the thread and got jacked up by lapd for shooting his condor in the woods.

So one of my jobs on the property, where my wife and I live is to keep an eye out for pests.
So I am walking around looking for said pests, when I see 2 strangers walking up the drive way. Now the home owner says I should just call the cops when I see trespassers, I figure why waste there and my time. At this time I had a .177 Beeman break barrel rifle. I break open the barrel so when I go to politely talk to these two strangers they can see that the gun is un-loaded and safe. Well wouldn’t you know it they give me attitude tell me there are not any no trespassing signs. and actually asked me if I was going to shoot them. I had explained to them what my job on the property is and told them I came to them with an open rifle to show them it was open and safe. In short they were rude and after they left they called the police on me, for asking them nicely to leave.
