Hearing some pretty negative things about condor in blogs
I just ordered a condor with pump but the more I read about the condor in the pyramid air blog the more worried I am. I read the safety is bad as are tolerances, tanks, fps, trigger, and the list went on an on. I am aware that there are mods to fix or change all of these issues but if that’s really the case why not just get a more expensive gun to start off with? (just asking in case someone gets cute) I did see that a condor won a 100m competition but it really didn’t sound like it was a condor anymore with the mods. I have competed in many state pistol, rifle, competitions and in a national with best finish a 4th at a state with 1000 shooters from civilian and military (I was military) so I know my way around target shooting and want a powerful accurate rifle so am I in trouble on this one or not and I am hoping I didn’t make a mistake.

Is the O-ring mod something that can be ordered or does it have to be installed by a smith. The condor really looks like a good rifle with a decent price.
I Can’t/Won’t risk shooting up at Red Hill ever again. It’s a long story(believe me), but that is US Navy property. For eons, there were no security guards there, and as a contractor, I had the gate code. I worked up there for years, and there was never a soul to be found when I went up after hours. Well, they put guards up there, and one of them reported me shooting pigs, and mistakenly identified my Condor as a Shotgun. He put that in his report and ALL HELL broke loose. That is why I am forever indebted to AKULA. He flew out to Hawaii and saved my ass, and I was LUCKY to only get a one year suspension.

What weight pellet and FPS / FPE was it shooting at?

Trigger work is easy if you know how to deburr, smooth and polish with out changing angles or ruining the case hardening of the parts.
That is where experience comes in. And if you bugger the trigger job knowing how to restore the correct angles and case harden is what separates the wannabes from the experienced.
I recommend Tubal Cain’s ‘Hardening, Tempering and Heat Treatment’ (Workshop Practice Series No.1), it’s a superb manual for that particular kind of work. 🙂

accurace at 100 meters… i can shoot a bunny (and that a small head at that distance) between the eye and area every time.

Seriously though, dont mess with the trigger unless you feel it needs work. Not all triggers are bad from Airforce.
Second, dont do any grinding on your parts unless you are willing to run the risk of ruining your parts. Also be sure you know exactly what you are doing before you start.
Third, if you are sending it to Tony, you wont have to even look at the trigger once hes done with it.
Question to Lang. What lips do you suggest grinding OFF? I do not really understand why you would do this.
On my sear (the bit that sticks up into the frame and engages the hammer) there were two sharp edges, one on each side. These cut railroad tracks into the delrin hammer when I had that in. All the contact-surfaces were rough as hell too and the trigger needed a fair bit of pressure to fire. Since I did the work on it it’s been light and smooth.
It’s not rocket-science, but I guess trigger-work is another one of those mythical no-go areas. I guess it keeps the ‘professional’ tuners in good work though. 😆

3. Stay off the pyramyd blog site if you want decent info. It is mostly kids there. Not much real AG experience there at all.
Try here, The yellow, Airgun advice. They Shoot real guns and have real answers. Oh, and forget the uk air gun forums. Any thing stronger than a pea shooter scares the hell out of them. And they get really pissed if you tell them that you shot anything living further than 25 yards. They’ll flat out call you a lier or just plain typical stupid American with no respect for game. They haven’t got a clue what a Condor can do. And proud of there government imposed ignorance.
There are some (A FEW) well informed air gunners in the uk. But again, they are here on the TAG! 😀 😉
You’ll find that your Condor in .25 is a perfectly capable game and varmint killer at 100yards. If you do you part. Very few AG’s five in that territory.
You say that you are a competitor. You should do well. Saying that you are in the military and know guns doesn’t say much. I’m ex-LEO, and live next to the largest military base in the free world. I know of NO ONE that can brag more, and shoot worse than most cops and gi’s. The spray and pray doctrine is alive and well.
