Hi I am new. Want to say HI =) and ask for recommendation

I wanted to say Hi and intro myself.
I own Gamo Varmint Hunter .177 air rifle and Leapers 4-16×50 scope with accushot high mount. I really love the scope and the power of the rifle.
I use it mostly for pest control, small game hunting at 30-50 meters and target practice. My rifle loves Crosman Premier Heavy, JSB Diablo Heavy, Beeman Kodiak extra havies and Predators.
But really want to get into .22 cal pre charged air rifle.
I am new to Air Force guns but have been doing some research and
ready to place an order very soon for Talon SS. (saving up some cash)
I will do more searching here, but if you guys can tell me essential things
that I need to get to make this gun comfortable and easy to use.
My plan is to buy below.
1. Talon SS
2. AirForce Tri Rail
3. Leapers Accushot 4-16×50 scope
4. Accushot 1-pc high mount
5. Bipod….. I am not sure wich one and need some help.
6. Either Hand pump or scuba refill clamp…. again not sure what is better, hand pump or get used scuba tank and use that.
7. …. Any other recomendations?

Well, if it’s in between a hand pump and and scuba tank, the choice is obvious for most people lol. But as airtight said, make sure you know of a place that fills to 4500. Many dive shops won’t, my local Sports Chalet won’t, although the one by me I think will go to 4200 or so. Mac 1 airguns won’t even go that high… so check around first before going 4500 CF.
that would be sweet, but i am an average joe that sometimes have to live paycheck to paycheck with occasional bonuses LOL

but I have around 700-800 to spend on TSS and upgrades.
And I will not have 500 for CF4500psi tank. I dont shoot too much.
Plus its either i have to pay 180 for hand pump or 60 for clamp and 50-70 for used scuba tank.
I would say for now 3000psi will do and then once i get really hooked and will be shooting like crazy… then it will be time for CF4500psi tank.
I am sure I can find a station in Seattle area that will fill me up to 4500psi.
Yep that sounds about right, but if you can afford it, skip the scuba tank altogether and put the money towards a CF tank. all depends how much you shoot I guess.
Get the 44CF tank from Joe B. It’ll pay for itself in the long run. Make sure there is a location in your area where you can get a SCBA filled to 4500 PSI before making any purchase. Fills should be $10-$20. If they try to charge $35 tell them to suck it. 😯

4500psi is definitely a way to go, but tank with hose run around 470-500 from Joe B.
I can get Used 3000psi tank for about $50 on Craigs List… about 8 fills… hmm.
around 40 – 50 shots per rifle tank on TSS on medium setting.
8 fills x 40 shots = 300-350 shots on one 80cf scuba tank charge.
Im i pretty accurate if I say that?

OK, so I think we now have an answer. Less than 10 fills for a standard scuba tank, and about 50 for an 88 cu ft 4500 psi.
Oh, thats where you lost me. I hear 88 and think carbon fiber. Most SCUBA tanks are 80 CF.
I thought we were talking about a 3000 psi scuba tank, not a 4500 psi.

With an 88 cu ft scuba tank filling to 2800 psi and refilling at 2200 psi, you would get 8 fills.
As far as how many fills you’ll get….It depends on how low in air pressure you take the tank down. But in general terms….not many. AKULA
So lets say on power setting 6-8 will I get about 40-50 shots without much drop at 40-60 yards with … for example Crosman Premiers?
then how many refills I can get on regular scuba tank 3000psi….. 5, 10, 20 ? What is Not Many?
I want to do some shooting in range but I dont want to stand there with hand pump pumping away , you know what i mean.

Hey Seattle dude, If you go with a CF tank , theres a paintball shop in Everette that will charge em. The best gunshop with the area for airguns (and firearms imo) would be Adventure sports in Lynnwood. Scuba tanks in our area usally run $5.00 per charge. Three yrs ago when I went PCP I ended up spending aprox $1500. The Talon ss was the inexpensive portion of my setup. Its the ascessories that really add up fast. But its worth it and just the other day I sold my Gamo springer to help fund a round trip to Tony of Talon Tunes shop for my SS to get some serious upgrades. I can’t say enough about my .22 Talon ss though, I’ve taken many jackrabbits and other varmints and just 6 hrs ago I finally got the sneaky tree rat that kept my dog barking.
