Hi I am new. Want to say HI =) and ask for recommendation

I wanted to say Hi and intro myself.
I own Gamo Varmint Hunter .177 air rifle and Leapers 4-16×50 scope with accushot high mount. I really love the scope and the power of the rifle.
I use it mostly for pest control, small game hunting at 30-50 meters and target practice. My rifle loves Crosman Premier Heavy, JSB Diablo Heavy, Beeman Kodiak extra havies and Predators.
But really want to get into .22 cal pre charged air rifle.
I am new to Air Force guns but have been doing some research and
ready to place an order very soon for Talon SS. (saving up some cash)
I will do more searching here, but if you guys can tell me essential things
that I need to get to make this gun comfortable and easy to use.
My plan is to buy below.
1. Talon SS
2. AirForce Tri Rail
3. Leapers Accushot 4-16×50 scope
4. Accushot 1-pc high mount
5. Bipod….. I am not sure wich one and need some help.
6. Either Hand pump or scuba refill clamp…. again not sure what is better, hand pump or get used scuba tank and use that.
7. …. Any other recomendations?

I think I have pretty much all my questions answered. I will need to do more research on bipod and mounting options for it. (seen several thread on dovetail to weaver adapter and stud mounting for Harris bipod)
ONE MORE. How many fills will i get on regular size 3000psi scuba tank before I have to go to refill it?
Now i just need to look up the stock mod. =)
Oh. Any of you guys take your TSS to regular shooting range for practice?
I have one very close that is being used by local Police for practice all the time.
Am I going to look weird shooting .22 air rifle there? LOL . … I bet I will get asked couple questions on wtf am i shooting.

Talon SS is a good start. I have one and love it. Then I loved it some more and up graded from .22 to .25. anyway this is about you. soooo….
Tri rail is good for both comfortable head position and stiffens the frame in the breech area.
The leapers scope are great for the money. (I have same as you mentioned.)
High mount is also a good pair with the tri rail.
I was at Walmart today and saw a rocky point bipod for like $30.00
looked like a Harris without the expense.
As far as how to fill your tank. Start with the pump(most seem to like Hill including me) see if you do not mind the labor of pumping up your tank. Then get a scuba tank. You can always use the pump between scuba fills and the pump is easier to take to the field.

Hi and welcome 😀 “You’re gonna get hooked, you’re gonna get hooked”. If you enjoy a Gamo springer, then you are going to love an AF gun.
It is always good to have a pump, but filling from a tank is easy and convienent. Maybe your long range plan should be to aquire both. I would definitely buy the gun with the refil clamp/yoke. You will save money and probably go to the scuba tank sooner or later.
Many of the guys on the forum will give you good advice, but it comes down to experimenting to see what fits you best for the type of shooting, or hunting that you are going to do. Although, your sooting and hunting may very well change as you learn what you and your AF rifle can do. You have probably noticed the hunting section where guys are putting the brakes on critters at distances that were previosly reserved for powder burners. Then there is Triggerman’s skewered skunk shot of the year.

I would recommend buying a Talon SS then upgrading to a 24″ barrel. With proper tuning, you will get about 950 fps with kodiaks for 60+ shots.
The shrouds that you have probably seen are very effective in eliminating the loud BOOM from the air, but they will not make a supersonic condor silent.
If it breaks the sound barrier around 1050 it will make a crack no matter the shroud you use. 940-960 fps that most people get on the condor is more than fast enough.

Is there a way to quiet condor a bit but still keep the 1000+ velocity
or i am just thinking about velocity too much?
I saw that there is shrouds for Condor that cover up the barrel. Do they make it more quiet or they are just for looks?
ps. Oh and I also have Walther P99 Lasered .177 Pellet Pistol for fun indoor shooting =)

For a bipod I would recommend a Harris, very sturdy and easy to use. You will need to do something like this to mount it http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3897&start=0
If you go with the handpump, I would recommend the hill pump.
If you get a tank, get a 44 cu ft 4500 psi tank from Joe B.

Seattle; You won’t look stupid at all. Let the folks on the range shoot the gun and explain what it is. They will enjoy the gun as much as you.
As far as how many fills you’ll get….It depends on how low in air pressure you take the tank down. But in general terms….not many. AKULA
