Hummingbird; an observation of the shroud and accuracy
When it comes to accuracy it seems my Bird is partial to a vertical alignment of the shroud holes. That is also the position they are in when the shroud is snugged up. I’ve aligned the holes of the baffles with the shroud holes. When I turned the holes to point east and west, the accuracy went unpredictable within a 3/4 inch circle. at only 9 yards. Turn them back to north and south and the accuracy returns. Curious sensitivity. I’d think there was a slight imbalance with that orientation. Maybe that works? The bottom-escaping air makes light deposits on the top of the air reservoir.

PSI had to send my Bird in to Peter for that blowby at the breech. As noted elsewhere, the Bird suddenly popped an inner seal somewhere and dumped all it’s air.

If wwag have not received any hb’s, then how did an wwag employee get an hb to evaluate?? A pre-production version to boot. And one that was only being distributed by a competitor (top). Who’s who??? Please prove me wrong, but i feel like like wwag, top, and to a certain degree aoa, are partners and not competitors…
Gabe
Top airguns is not a competitor their in our dealer network we work hand-in-hand with them they ordered some of the hummingbirds but we decided to wait. We took two of the hummingbirds they ordered so that we could assess them. We decided we would wait for the production versions. We regularly recommend people go to top airguns if we don’t have the gun in stock and they do the same for us.
So every HB delivered to date was sold by TGAG? That’s some dealer network. Seems like WWAG is distancing itself from this “debacle” to read your comments, ironcross. Surely WWAG didn’t refer HB customers to TGAG knowing the item for sale was a pre-production model with no manufacturer warranty. That can’t be the case. My rifle is being sent back for inspection/repair. That buy is looking like a high-wire act without a safety net after reading your comments. Worrying.

Darrlyl,
A dealer network doesn’t mean we control what a vendor orders, we can make suggestions but at the end of the day everybody is a big boy and can make their own decisions which is exactly what TOP did. We thought there might be issues and decided to wait to place the WWAG order till production version was available. And you right we didn’t recommend the current batch to any of our customers, I would hate if a vendor pointed me to a product that could have potential issues so why would I do that to our customers?
If it seems like it takes me awhile to answer its because I can’t access TAG on my home computer I have to do it on my phone which is difficult and takes much longer. In my nests posts I will try to answer the current batch of inquiries.
True. I’ll sit on the sideline for now. On a positive note, i think the hb will be a winner just like the cricket and edgun r series after the issue(s)are squared awayBtw, Ive owned both and loved them.
Peace out

Gabe,
Actually I’m a little bit optimistic that the dealers see a positive opportunity from this start; a chance to show their airgun hearts are in the right place. At a time when this community needs their reassurance I’m hopeful we won’t find these dealers lacking in that effort. They do, after all, offer other tried and true products the community wants. It won’t do anyone any good to go negative without first at least hearing from the dealers in one manner or another. I’m sure all experiences will be posted here and elsewhere (where we are certain to be looking). It’s a good time to relax and let events take their course.

Good point Darryl. Why would anyone offer these hbs if they knew they had issues. I think everyone who bought an hb should be entitled to a refund or an exchange for the post production model assuming they will function without any issues. I hope these dealers step up to the plate and do the right thing. However, my gut instinct is they won’t. I was seriously considering an hb but not now.

I believe it’s a part of the semi auto mechanism to pull the cocking bolt forwards. May or maybe removed if you prefer too. Removed like Ernest did makes it a easer to load mags one handed, no need to hold it open wail.

So WWAG did not sell any of these pre-production Birds?
darryl
Gabe
Ernest works for WWAG. Tunes will eventually be offered for HB bought thru WWAG and TOP (still deciding on a tune price) but we will not be doing warranty work for the HB pre production bought thru TOP like we offer for their Crickets sold.
One other question. Who does earnest work for- wwag, top, or is he independent? I ask because if i buy a bird from top, is he able to work on it?
