Q:

I been challenged to a shoot out

Each April my two brothers meet down at the deer camp , Shoot, ride motorcycles and stuff just for the weekend, Its right dab in the Three sisters area in Texas, Example, we shot skeet once and Charles, (the one that’s challenged me, the old one) could hit nothing on the first shot, We called him dead eye, He goes back to Austin, joins a skeet club , We meet up the next year and he blows us away with his skeet shooting. LOL.
Anyway to the point , Brother said he could out shoot any of my air guns with his complete stock Ruger 10-22 just OTC shells…
I ask how far you want to shoot , He said 75 – 100 yards, Deals on ,
I have shot the 22 Cricket at 100 yards but never the 25 at 100 yards, My range at my house is at 48 yards, Looks like I make have to head to the pit and do some practicing.
Anyone else took a challenge like this against a rimfire rifle,
At 50 yards it would not be much of a challenge , I know that for sure,
I think his only knowledge of air guns is his Gamo something or another and my other brothers Ruger springer that I out shot both with my old FWB 124 a few years back…
Yea and I got the fastest bike to,

I love my CZ 630 in I always use this during shooting competitions with friends.

I have the CZ 452 in .17 HMR. Had the trigger worked on and it’s at a crisp 6oz. Damn nice rifle. 100 yards it’ll shoot 3/4″ groups.

Yes i have. They are well known. I like CZ. Ny favorite conceal carry is a Rami 2075 CZ 9mm. i even had a guy in Norway (Hakan) make custom cocobolo grips for it. The guns are small but very easy to shoot accurately.

Say Coda. On your 22 rim fire testing have you ever tried a CZ 452 or 453 ? I find them very hard to beat. The 453 has a better trigger out of box but both can be upgraded. Very good for a $400.00 dollar gun.

Now all you need is Edgun R3M 22 cal to really make it interesting. :6:

My compressor made it in Pictures coming soon. !00 yard training starts next week, all three guns will be tested , Pictures coming middle of next week.
22 Cricket VS , 25 Cricket, VS 25 marauder,,,, 100 yard shoot out,,,,
Did I say I have a new compressor, Hee Haw

It’ll be interesting to see that’s for sure. Maybe on a calm day but with any wind I think the .25 will win. :2cents:

I’ll bet you a six pack that the 22 has smaller groups the 25 cal

Zonk
You may be right, I have never tried the 25 Cricket at 100 yards, I have the 22 Cricket and the 25 Marauder,
My tracking number says my compressor will be here Friday, Weekend goes to the wife so no shooting then, Well get the compressor up and running and take a few pictures ,
Great white will be filled and I will , Clean the guns, LOL.

Both are great guns Mike but I can only imagine the .25 will out shoot the .22. But I’ve been wrong before….

My compressor should be here in about 5 days, I will start going out to the pit and shooting, It will be the first time I get to compare the 22 to the 25 at over 50 yards, I will set everything up at 100 yards and see which one shoots the best at that distance…
Mike

Take pictures of the groups!

I used to help new young shooters with their parent(s) at my local range and the club (not me – I would have recommended a bolt action rifle) recommended 10/22s and Bushnell scopes for some crazy reason. Anyway, I found out early on just how bad they really are stock with even match ammo. Rarely, I would see a good one (1/2-3/4″ group at 50 yards) but most were about 2″ and many were worse and some much worse).

I shot a Volquartsen once and it was a completely different gun than a Ruger. I sold my 10/22 rather than invest in the necessary upgrades. I ended up with an inexpensive Marlin 60 which is a very accurate gun with the right ammo right out of the box. At the range they said the micro-groove rifling and Marlin crown were the difference but I heard others say the barrel band did some of it on the Ruger. Don’t really know. I probably setup fifty 10/22s and it left me looking for an alternative. Maybe one out ten shot ok.

Damn don’t get lost before the match….

Thanks guys,
Like I say I am 100 % sure his 10-22 is stock, Got a local pit out a few miles from the house that a few folks bring out there 30-06 , 270s and other big guns
Takes about an hour of shooting before the local Deputy Sheriff comes out and runs them off,
I am sure when he sees my Cricket and tank he will just laugh at me,
I will be out there practicing some 100 yard shots, Its a huge pit about 16 city blocks big and 40 yards deep,
Mike
