Q:

In search of a .25

Hey guys,

I sold my 2 airguns: Mrod .22 and HW97K .177 to get a new one, a .25
My question now is: which one does fit my needs:

– very important: accurate!
– not to loud
– more then 40 fpe
– quality

Anyone suggestions or should I better wait until after summer? Because there will be a lot new airguns I heared. I can fill the gap by buying my friends Matador .22 .

Thank you for your advice.

I’ve purchased over a dozen pcp’s in the last two years and since then I have sold all but four. One of the four is my AAA.25 condor. I know so many guys talk about these “Holy Grail” edguns, rapids, wolfs, etc. Personally I have not had the pleasure of owning nor shooting one…and at that price point I don’t think I will…. I don’t doubt that these are high quality guns…but if your wallet is limited, why not go for a condor in .25. I just love our beloved Airforce guns as no others are so customizable and simple to work on! Oh and they shoot pretty good to boot! 😉

quote roachcreek:

So it seems that the thin skirt of the Kings saves that barrel from being rebar.

That and the fact that you posted up a .75 sub moa group with it @ 100yards! 😀

… I want a .25

Air Ranger .22 50fpe model.
I picked it up at AOA used

And someone has a Theoben Rapid in .25?

pfff.. I just don’t know 🙁

Which Daystate do you have?

I’m keeping my eyes open for a good 22 traditional rifle but I don’t have $2K to spend. What do you think of their Huntsman line?

That being said Steve in La I thought we were tight until you started talking about WONDER GUNS. LOL
my Daystate is WONDERFUL! LMAO
I like my Marauder , choice between Marauder and Daystate sorry Steve I will take the Daystate before 3 Marauders (.177,.22 and .25) lol
Squirrel on the feeder Marauder! (under 20 yards)
One hole shooting Daystate!

+1 bought an M-Rod 22 and returned it within 24 hours. My shotgun produces tighter groups.

I had a Mrod and I can assure you: it was NOT accurate!
My friend is on 3th place in Dutch 100m (+100 yards) airgun competition and he shoot less then 1.5″ groups at 100 yards.
He has shot my Mrod and even at 20 yards it was… horrible.

I took his Airwolf and.. tada, hole in hole at 60 yards. So it was not because of me, but the gun!

Over on the Marauder forum, there is a guy, USMCshooter, who has posted some very tight groups that he shot with his .25 Marauder. Many people are seeking an accurate gun, but it seems like they can’t shoot as well as their wonder gun and go looking for the “really accurate” wonder gun. 😉

Yes the Royale 500 is simply not the 400 with a bigger bottle and bore, I is clumsy some say and does not shoot nearly as well others say.

I cannot say since I do not own a .25 but!
The quality and accuracy of my daystate is just sick for an air gun hell wish my stocks on my center fire rifles was near as nice as the daystate.
My daystate will stack pellets in the same hole like no other gun I have ever owned. My mother is 72 years old and I was shooting with my dad at thier house a couple weeks ago. I made a metal spinner target with 5 one inch square metal plates. This was set up at 50 yards. My dad and I were shooting it. My mother said “what fun is that gun you never miss”
You know what it is true it hits what you aim at period. 50 yards I was stacking kodiak extra heavy pellets (first pellet I tried) I would buy another daystate in .25 in two seconds if I had the cash right now. Saving slowly. lol

Extra: it should be accurat out of the box!
A Royal 500 is very nice but needs another LW barrel with HW surpressor to be very accurat..

What i read and hear is that the airranger is not as accurate as a theoben rapid or Air Arms S510.
Mrod is not an option.. Not accurate enough.
Accurate means groups less then 2″ on 100 yards.

So.. I don’t really know.
I’ll buy the matador and when I’ve decided..

So anyone a better prop?

That .25 Air Ranger is sexy for sure. 😀
