Q:

In search of a .25

Hey guys,

I sold my 2 airguns: Mrod .22 and HW97K .177 to get a new one, a .25
My question now is: which one does fit my needs:

– very important: accurate!
– not to loud
– more then 40 fpe
– quality

Anyone suggestions or should I better wait until after summer? Because there will be a lot new airguns I heared. I can fill the gap by buying my friends Matador .22 .

Thank you for your advice.

Gets my vote, I have one in .22 and saving for one in .25
I thought we were talking reasonably priced .25
Money is no problem nobody hates thier Daystate! lol
Range in .22 50 fpe is a hammer right out of the box. I imagine the .25 would be the same. Shot count accuracy everything you can ask for in a pellet rifle. Did I mention that gorgeous walnut thumbhole stock?

A friend just bought an 80FPE Air Ranger. This guy can normally find a fault in a perfect circle, but not with his Air Ranger. He absolutely loves it.

Kazz,

The best ones out there would be the Daystate 25’s and the FX Royale 500 and perhaps the Theoben’s.

My choice would be if Evanix came out with the Rainstorm in 25, having said that, it is said they will have a 9mm repeater out soon, so perhaps a 25 will be in the works.

I am underwhelmed with my .25 Condor, it shoots Kings very well, but nothing else. I need to bench it with Predators, but at the cost I could only shoot them at squirrels.

The problem lies in the barrel, pushing a pellet down the barrel with a cleaning rod shows that it is tight for about 2 inches, after that the pellet litterally free falls to the last 1 inch of the choked barrel.

Over the last 6 months I have tried different breeches, hammers, springs, frames, scopes, pellets, only the stock Condor hammer/weight/spring/valve combo work and then only around 45 to 50 FPE with Kings, and they shoot splendid indeed.

So it seems that the thin skirt of the Kings saves that barrel from being rebar.

Roachcreek

I am not good at the fpe calculations but did you like your Marauder?
I have a .25 Marauder that pushes jsb pellets just over 900 fps.
It is quiet, accurate and a decent gun for the money.
