Is it the Shooter or the Gun…?
So what is more important, the shooter or the gun?
Or are they equally important?
A crappy shooter can make a mess of an accurate rifle, they can also improve their groups through the increased accuracy of the better rifle.
But the best shooter in the world can’t make a inconsistent rifle shoot better through technique alone…
Is it 50/50, equal parts shooter to rifle accuracy?
60/40 shooter/rifle?
Or.
40/60 shooter/rifle?

I’ve shot a lot of 10 meter. Will I out shoot my competition with my $300 HW55 while he shoots a $3000 Feinwerkbau? Do it every Thursday night.
Too many other factors too.
Pellet, pressure if PCP, scope, etc., on and on and…. you get the pictue.
At the end of the day so to speak, It’s still 50/50.

Sky, the car analogy is interesting but i’ve seen quite a few IndyCar/CART cars that could have had any of the top ten drivers in it and still win… 😉
Shit, Danica “The Whore” Slutrick won a race in a car that I could have driven to at least two or more wins in the same season. Her teammate easily won the title with the same car. 😯
in a perfect world it would be 50/50…. but i think its more like 60/40 shooter to gun… one must be able to learn and practice “Kentucky windage” to truly be able to shoot in the field.
Equal parts shooter and rifle for most of us that hunt and plink.
At the advanced skill levels a better gun makes all the difference, especially one with a crisp trigger.
I have yet to see a Yugo win the Indy 500! 😆

60/40 shooter/gun
I think an amazing shooter with a shit gun will do much better than a shit shooter with an amazing gun. A skilled shooters technique and knowledge will out perform any benefit that an amazing gun gives a shit shooter! The amazing shooter will be able to compensate some what for the poor quality gun. Just my 2 cents.
