Here’s a thought…people react to this kind of stuff like you have, with your comment, because they’re fundamentally insecure in their own physical prowess, and feel vicariously threatened by it. I used to speak quite freely about my military service when the subject came up naturally until I noticed a trend, that a majority of people would turn from perfectly nice to outright obnoxious. It took a bit of thought to figure out what was going on. “Oh look, Mr Big Shot (I feel threatened), bet it’s a load of bullshit (I’m feeling inadequate).”
There’s nothing “big man on the forum” about it. What could possibly be the point? I’m going to meet any of you, at which point it might possibly count for something? Analyse the psychology, motivation.
