Considering, legally speaking it can be harassment, slander, defamation of character, libel, etc, etc.
I would say he was provoked.
Is he going overboard?
Not IMO. It was totally uncalled for. He was not even part on the conversation or even posting on the thread until he was called out.
I do not believe any of us would appreciate that, especially considering there was no reason to say what was said (I am not going to repeat it).
Everyone reacts differently, that is one reason you do not see people called out on the street in most cases (unless there was a legitamite reason to do so), this sort of thing generally happens behind a screen, keyboard or when the other person is 100’s of miles away or around the world.
Just my .02 on the subject.

1- see both sides
2- know why someone is acting the way they are
Then decide for yourself-
What you come up with will be your opinion.
Opinions are great, I have as many or more than most, LOL!!
However, I try not to accuse.
I may say you are an ass, but I will not say you are a thief (that is, unless you are a thief).
There is a big difference in the 2.
If you call me an ass, that is your opinion.
If you call me a thief (and I am not), there is a LOT of legal liability behind that statement.
Of course he is…. as is probably 98% of us here! Excluding myself, of course… 😯
Bottom line is that with a forum as open as this, things will be said… people will get all butt hurt… and they’ll get over it and things will return to whatever semblance of ‘normal’ we have here!
I personally enjoy his rants though. Reminds me of the old TOG when everyone bickered. 🙂 So I say we enjoy pushing his buttons. 🙂

YN did NOT call Lang a thief at any stage. What he did say was that he predicts that Lang will “do a Don” at some stage. What that means and the thoughts behind it are up for interpretation. What is not up for interpretation though is that Lang’s comments since have been far more calumny and vile. Lang is entitled to feel how he wants and within reason say what he wants here, but in my opinion he is doing himself no favours and is coming across as a boorish man.
