Leishy safety
Don’t own a leishy but it seems that disengaging the safety may cause an accidental discharge if the safety was partially set.
Seems like a major design flaw. Deal breaker?
How concerned are you guys about this.
Damn it, I wanted one (after a TMS or Vulcan purchase)

@JamesTwo3 in a way you’re right.Leshiy is short… yes, but THAT’S WHY it is so cool and that’s the reason people buy it. If one prefers full-size standard rifles – there are countless options on the market (incl. EdGun – long Matador or Morana). But in case of compact bullups and short rifles like Leshiy, Lelya, etc. the size is the key reason to buy. So either you want / buy / take extra care, or you just enjoy standard rifles… and take extra care as well! Handling ANY gun is potencially risky activity so one should be carefull all the time. I know at least two guys locally, who shot themselves with full size airguns in leg & foot, just for being careless when carrying them and beliving in routine. There is no such thing as ‘more forgiving gun’ which you can just controll less than other. Hunters got shot around the world due to careless gun handling and 99% of them use long rifles.
Well one thing is for sure unless the shooter is totally stupid , it only takes one Fuck-Up and you will never Fuck-Up
like that again .

Here’s how it’s linked to the Leshiy;
The Leshiy is a very small carbine with a short forearm to barrel height. Some shooters like to hold rifles with a long forearm grip. He was using the bipod as a forearm.
If I were to shoot the leshiy I would want my forearm grip to be underneath the moderator. Lol. Probably would be dangerous if I accidentally put my finger near the end of the barrel.
So yeah, the Leshiy is not to blame BUT it’s not like it’s 100% irrelevant.
Let’s not pretend like one is equally likely to shoot his finger w/ a matador as with a leshiy regardless of who or what is at fault.
Replace the leshiy w/ an s200 and that wouldn’t have happened. Replace it w/ the shorter Mutant and maybe he only hits the tip of his finger, if at all (forearm to barrel height difference between the leshiy and the taipan)
I could be wrong. Never held a edgun or taipan. Just guessing based on looks.
Makes me rethink of whether I want an ultra short carbine/bullpup.
What else….
The point is for other leshiy owners to be careful/aware as to prevent a reoccurrence.
Hope he doesnt lose his finger.
Kind regards,
Well, Erik addmited that was his fault, so how is it linked to Leshiy?
yes fault was completely Erik’s, because the accident happened with leshiy.
unfortunately accident, hopefully he will not lose finger.
I hold down the cocking lever and look through the barrel to see if there is light or darkness
Mistakes happen , some get injured and unfortunately some die , when ever you are in doubt if your gun is loaded always take it
outside and place barrel downward towards the yard and then pull the trigger , it is a much safer way to make sure that it is empty .

pistols/handguns are very dangerous, if you compare to a long barrelled guns. also way too easy to point it to the wrong direction. ok unrelated in this cas.
I would also never let a child shoot any of these. just like break barrels.
i think in this case, the problem was bad habit. to shoot a short barreled pistol with a stock, like a full long rifle.
this would never happen on a 24 inch talon broomstick. by design.
A friend of mine did a hole in his feet with AA S400. He said the real pain was aftre the surgery. Heβs fine now. And yes, one should be very careful with compact guns, that is very very true!
Anyway, this is absolutely not linked to Leshiy safety catch.
When I got a bullet from firearm to my left leg I didn’t feel any pain at all for first 20 minutes π
Ouch!!!

edit: ALWAYS a muzzle shoud be clear of anything in front of it except target. That is true for any shooting device – firearm, airgun, crossbow, etc.

Man that is terrible. I feel for the guy, it only takes one mental error to change a life and turn a hobby into a nightmare.
Eric, I hope you have a speedy recovery.

LESHIY Can rest assure no safety concern with mine think it’s more a user issue after all it is a gun π
Just fold make safe. Open breach safe gun simple
Yes, mine is the same. Once I release safety, I cannot press safety again until the gun is folded.

Two hands held short weapons are intrinsically more dangerous for the shooter than longer weapons because you can unintentionally do something that is very dangerous like putting your hand in front of the muzzle.
Each time I shoot an UZI I make an additional “mental security check”.
Each time I say to myself “Remember that your hand is very close to the muzzle and the gun is not safe when the bolt is open”.
Sub compact carbines require additional attention, that’s the way it is.
