Tony has all the parts you will need. The only two I would even consider having on hand would be a spare valve stem and an O-ring kit. I’ve never heard of anything else wearing out or breaking…except Ville’s heart!
Ratso’s been drinking again, so cut him some slack. The only “Strange” he’s been getting lately is “Ideas”…..

Well it’s common knowledge that if anything goes wrong with our guns we got :hoot: illegally smuggled in Leyla to take parts off. Outside having illegal EDgun parts……contraband, we will have some peace of mind and assurance knowing this. Hoot: is old and doesn’t move fast. He keeps Lolly tucked under his seat cushion on the recliner. It’s stinky and will have to be aired out but if ED isn’t shipping parts FedeX it is the next alternative.
Next option is the displaced Finn. Ville shot me an email claiming he was going to start making and providing EDgun parts to folks in the US and Europe to help meet the demand. However one never knows how much Ville has swilled down before pronouncing this substantial endeavor. It won’t be the first time he has claimed he would do great things only to fall back into a pattern of heavy drinking and pontificating about airgun maufactures :18: :18: :18: :18: .
This might be a little premature since we have not even got the guns yet, but something I have been thinking about and would like some input. One of my concerns is that I will get this high dollar gun and then something will break and won’t be able to get parts to fix it. This could be just because of very slow delivery of parts or with all the new PB’s coming out and Eds somewhat poor job of delivering I have to consider the possibility that he could loose market share and go under (no longer produce guns and therefor not parts either). So my thought is this could I/we identify a handful (maybe 10 or so) parts that would be the most likely to break/wear and that I/we could not get elsewhere or fairly easily make ourselves? If I/we could come up with such a list it may be worth it to order some (two or three each) right of the get go and have a RSP (Readiness Spares Package) at hand. If I am putting 1200 Dinero out on a gun I don’t mind investing another 300 to insure it shoot and shoot well for a long time. If I order a collection of most likely to break parts right away it would be okay if I had to wait a lengthy time for delivery. If the gun breaks and I don’t have the parts a length wait would not be so good. So what do you all think? Could likely to break parts be identified and do you think it would even be possible to order a number of these ahead of time?

The squirrels are heavy this year. I cannot wait til August. Fried squash, kale greens, and squirrel will be be on the menu. The bobcat population has exploded as well. Mid November will not get here soon enough.

Good video. The one that follows with an R3 long is good too. Anyone else notice they have a plethora of pests and varmints this year like me? I have never seen so many squirrels, chipmunks, sparrows, etc. and we normally have a lot. 😛

It doesn’t make a bit of difference what caliber you shoot in the Leyla, if you are primarily interested in target shooting. All the calibers will be pellet on pellet at air gun distances. The only measurable difference will be shot count reduction as you go into the larger calibers. I get about 20+ shots in my older Leyla with 19 gr at 850 fps.
However, if you wish to punch out some varmints as well, then one of the larger calibers might be in order due to their greater FPE. That’s the only real caliber selection consideration, in my humble opinion.
Let your intended use guide you in this selection. The only problem with an exotic caliber, like the .20, will be a more limited pellet selection.
Don’t agonize over this! It isn’t going to make any great difference one way or the other. Besides, remember this tiny gun is the perfect “truck/trunk” gun to carry about for shots of opportunity. It is dead silent, super accurate, incredibly portable, and, properly out of sight, you could shoot pigeons all day and no one would be the wiser. Watch the Youtube “TheRussianBastards” at work doing this very thing with a Leyla and a Bugbuster scope. (…a .22 would have been more effective) This is a gun to have fun with!!!

Still haven’t made my mind up on the caliber. I im considering a .25, but most things I would use that caliber for a powder burner would do better.
I’ve spoken with a few guys in South Africa that swear by the .20 for BR competition. They’ve also sworn by RAW BM-500 rifles.
The .20 is really easy to shoot well. The JSB 13s are very consistent. They don’t seem to vary in head size and skirt thickness like the other calibers. I think you’ll really like the gun. Martin custom built that gun in the photo for me. I told him what I wanted and he accommodated me. At 50 yards the gun will one hole so many times it’s silly. I do think the practical long range for the 20 is 100 yards or less. Martin has some different barrel options.
Leddy I did a review of the RAW on another website, I think it was Air Arms Owners club, at any rate Martin posted my review on his blog. Dealing with Martin and his wife is a real joy. Those are some kick ass people. The RAW is boring to shoot because it is so accurate. When you read it you’ll think damn does this guy ever hate an airgun. The RAW is really good. I try to only pick good guns to buy so I never have reviewed an AoA gun :rofl:
The one downside of Theoben/RAWs is they are too complicated for me to work on but Martin will tune it for you. You can find the review under the “blog” section on the RAW home page.
I wasn’t aware that they were hard to tune. I’m not far from them so shipping wouldn’t be bad in that case. I’ll look up your review in a while. How does the .20 fair at longer ranges??? Are they jsb’s pretty consistent from lot to lot ? Does martin still offer custom barrels?

I agree with you both however the jail house shots are personal.
I agree with The Unc – a BP feels best and most natural with higher than usual mounts.

I believe any bullpup, unless it’s scope rail has been specifically designed for scope height and angle, would benefit from higher rings than a common carbine or rifle. The ordinary rifle’s stock have a “droop” in the butt which allows the shooter to place his head lower on the barrel. On a bullpup, the breech/barrel is where you rest your cheek, so unless you have no neck, like LarryW, Zonk, Leadbetter, and iRide, you would benefit from higher rings!
In the above mentioned forum members, their eye sockets are even with their shoulders. This is due to a “cavity” between the shoulders, where a human’s neck is ordinarily located. In such cases, the sockets where their eyebulbs plug in, are actually shoulder level. (Note: it is impossible for individuals with this condition to eat soup with a spoon. They must use a large diameter straw! Further, it is impossible to hang these type individuals for a felony, they must be given a lethal injection of Valium, gasoline, and a good quality insecticide! )

Of course you haven’t heard of anything else wearing out or breaking, NOBODY OWNS THE GUN! Sure some people say they own it. Some people ever photoshop pictures of themselves holding one to convince others they own one, but we all know that the truth is that the gun doesn’t exist.
