Magnificient Uncle  :hoot: ,

since you are reaching an “advanced level” of Lelya knowledge and since Wingman is back, I’ll tell you about another issue I had with my Lelya that I never could figure out.

The airgun had the biggest fps deviation during the first 3-5 shots.

Fps was increasing during the first shots and then would eventually stabilise to normal level after this.

(Don’t remember the exact fps figures but I noticed this “fps changing” because I was trying to understand why the point of impact was changing during the first shots and becoming a one holer afterwards).

Also with a new valve stem and revised regulator the issue could never be solved.

Probably also due to some kind of leaking but I could never figure out the problem.

(At the end I came to the conclusion (probably wrong) that the materials when “heating” while shooting were sealing something).

Maybe  Uncle :hoot: and/or Wingman will solve this “cold case” 😀

The serial number on this gun is 750 and has Russian markings. That’s older than Wingnuts .177 caliber sheep gun, and I’d guess the gun is four to five years old??? Wingnuts…you listening in? How old is yours?

Kind regards,

Uncle Hoot:

that pic of the close up of the breech is actually not mine, it is Piters from Poland.. mine was of the newest manufacture 2 years ago S/N 0538 (Same batch as yours) and I believe all of the Veles and Lelyas were made in Eds Russian factory not the Estonian one.
Pity you didnt let me know earlier about your O ring needs as I could have sent you a bunch with your anal probe..

HORSESHIT !!!!
I ain’t had my dick in anybody’s mouth in two weeks!! I keep very thorough records of this shit!

:hoot:

Larry…take Leadbeaters dick out of your mouth, and give some thought to what you just said!

WHY…why…would I waste a good leather pouch in a pcp air gun?

No…it’s Nitrile 70 Duro for me! Someone will come up with a premium O-ring kit to carry as a spare. A body never knows when a “ring” will give out, or just wear thin. Mine has a very slow leak, down from 200 bar to 150 bar over four to five days. Nothing drastic, but certainly something I need to attend to. The serial number on this gun is 750 and has Russian markings. That’s older than Wingnuts .177 caliber sheep gun, and I’d guess the gun is four to five years old??? Wingnuts…you listening in? How old is yours?

While mine is in factory new condition, those O-rings are likely aging out from simply dehydration over time and getting brittle or starting to split. So it’s time to do a general O-ring overhaul.

Kind regards,

Uncle Hoot:

Hoot, once again The Wingman comes through with stellar information in a timely manor! I would suggest, as a fellow colonist, that if you decide to use leather and I think that would be the best chose available in the local hollers, that Wang leather would work just fine. You should have no trouble digging up a used tabbacco pouch.

Good Luck

Dear Wingnuts….

What material is the best for O rings? There seems to be a lot of choice in plastics. Does one last longer than another?

Are there really fifteen (15) O rings in the Leyla/Veves guns, or is that some kind of metric number???

Hoot:

There are 13 Orings in the Lelya and Veles when you count them in metric..
N70 are Nitrile material with a 70 Durometer hardness and a the best O rings to use in PCPs. If you are in the habit of filling you gun over 220bar then Vitron 75 or V75 O rings will last longer in the non regulated air positions but they cost a lot more. High wear areas such as the pellet probe can sometimes benefit from a slightly harder compound N90 o ring but they dont like to stay compressed for too long so best to leave your bolt open when not in use. Polly 70 or 90 O rings are also a good choice for high friction areas and wear better than Nitrile.

The above only matters if you use the metric system though, for you ancient lot still in the imperial age just use a cut down bike inner tube, a rubber band or some rolled up leather..

:hoot:

Dear Wingnuts….

Is there not a premium material for O rings? Can’t one provide a longer life span than another? Is that “N70” a Nitrile indication? I thought “N90” was touted as better endurance? Inquiring minds want to know.

Here’s an interesting web site with information on O ring materials: http://www.o-rings.org/ Be sure to click on the variety of materials listed to the left side. Interesting qualities for each is given!

Are there really fifteen (15) O rings in the Leyla/Veves guns, or is that some kind of metric number? An average user wouldn’t need all those would they?

Hoot:

Both the Veles and the Lelya have the same O ring kit:

Note these are all ID measurements ( the correct metric way to measure O rings 😉 )

4x 18mm X 3mm N70- Valve front plug and Reg body
1x 2,57 Ñ… 1,78 (005) N70- Front plug filling valve
2x 2.5mm X 1mm N70- .177 Pellet probe
2x 4.5mm X 1mm N70- .22 Pellet probe
1x 8mm X 1.5mm N70- Regulator piston rear
5x 5mm X 1.5mm N70- Reg piston front, Reg adjuster screw, transfer port, fill probe

:hoot:

Can one of you brain surgeons interpret what size these O rings are that are in the official Leyla O ring replacement kit?

You will need to be able to read my Chinese Thickness-Thing which measures in metric:

Here’s the kit:

First the Big O rings:

Then the Medium O rings:

Then the Little ones:

Those of you receiving a Leyla (Wingnuts NZ says it’s spelled “Lelya” in metric!) will eventually need to know this information…so pay attention!

Now that’s one smart girl! My daughters 24 and she’s had hers for 3 years….

She’s tough. Just got her conceal carry permit. 😯

Gentlemen, you are in luck!
I happen to have an assortment of these bands. I use them on the tone board of my open reed predator calls.

No need for hoot to go to the toad suck tractor supply!

Ville, due to expensive international shipping rates I will have to take something in trade………………

I’ll send a couple of Swedish hookers as a compensation.

Please don’t send any that bathed in herring oil!

Secoda, I’ll put her up in safe place far from the boyfriend, no charge 🙂

I told her boyfriend that i am not afraid to go back to prison. :darth-vader:

:hoot:

Big eyes, long hair, high cheeks, full lips….you’d better double lock~~~

Hoot:

PS: I took a second, longer look….you’d better put a partially decayed, young male’s dead body next to the lock!
