Very well written Pimp , Project and , dare i say it , Hoot.
In many occasion a shorter barrel is more accurate. It has less flex and the locktime ( from the time you squeeze the trigger till the Pellet leaves the muzzle ) is shorter.
The rest about power/air consumption is also oh so true.

The real difference between a long and a short barrel is that in order to make them shoot both at the same fps/fpe the shorter barrel needs more energy (air/flow) AND the shorter barrel is louder.
When you start customizing with a bigger and longer moderator in order to keep it quiet you will soon realize that at the same length (or shorter) there was already another solution, as the R3 for example (overall more robust and reliable).
Lelya should be left as it is and at short range you don’t need a big scope, actually you don’t need a scope at all, an “aim point” does the job and you keep the package light and you preserve the biggest pros of the Lelya, the weight.

I remain extremely curious regarding the .25 caliber Leyla, and it’s performance/shot count.
My .22 is producing 23 fpe, the .25 produces 30 fpe. That 7 fpe difference has to come from somewhere and that would seem to be the air volume.
That may/may not have a serious impact on shot count. I’m curious to see the numbers when someone gets their hands on one.
The Leyla is the consummate back yard assassin! Powerful at short range, almost silent, and too handy to believe!

perfectly agree on the barrel length, the problem is power and shot count.
Single shot doesn’t mean 1 shot and you have to refill. 😀

A sincere thank you for having me in your thoughts. Absolutely by no means your opinions or even a true statement of facts would influence me in any way what so ever. I am my own person. I only live by my own standards, and not of others. There is two days in a year that doesn’t matter to me. Yesterday and tomorrow, nothing can be changed from what happened yesterday and we cannot control what will happen tomorrow. So today, I am happy because I have the opportunity to wake up this morning, and now replying to your post and the Uncle’s with a smile on my face. Yes, I do agree customer care is the most important when one is in a business of sales and services.
As for Uncle, yes, I do agree with you about 12′ barrel being as accurate 24′ barrel. No doubt the Lelya is a thing of beauty, and should be cherished in a glass case. She/it would not serve any purpose for me. Especially a long waiting period. My plans for the Lelya was to modify her/it to fit my hunting needs. Oh well time to look at other options.
I have deep respect for each and everyone of your opinions Pippo and Uncle.

Well spoken, Pimp-Meister! That sums it up nicely.
And remember one thing…a 12″ barrel is every bit as accurate as a 24″ barrel at 100 yards/meters. The only difference will be a gain in fps with the longer barrel. Put a decent scope on this mighty midget and it will shoot with the long rifles…and out shoot all but the very very best of marksmen…none of whom frequent this forum. Prove me wrong!!!

I just would like to clarify that none of my posts concerning the Lelyas delivery was meant to discourage people from buying or waiting for it.
The message I wanted to send to Ed was “Ed you’re doing it wrong, you can do it right and you have to do it right. Customer care starts from respect and courtesy and those are for free (an added value for free), so please start from there.”, this was the message meant to be.
Concerning the Lelya, my point of view is the following (IMHO):
If you want to have one gun, an allrounder for all applications from short to long range with full power capacities, in short a professional tool, then the Lelya is not the appropriate choice.
If you say, I’m more a backyard plinker/sniper, I like accuracy but I don’t need full power and I usually stay in short ranges, in addition I have already other guns and I just wanted to add something nice to my collection then the Lelya fits perfectly.
As usually, IMHO.
There was a major bridge collapse in Russia and this has severely delayed all land traffic in and out of Estonia. I received a video of them utilizing temporary methods to get the Leyla’s out of the country. Now you haters can stop banging Ed for something beyond his control!!!

There’s always something beyond his control. “The Czsar” is a liar of the lowest order so eventhough a bridge may have collapsed somewhere in Estonia it doesn’t have to mean that has anything to do with the delay. A crook is a crook and would’t hesitate to use any possible event as an excuse.

I just wanted to stop in, and say thank you to Tony(toshik) for you time.
I can no longer endure the journey with you all. To those who have the will power to wait for your Lelya. May your journey be a fruitful one at the end. Enjoy your Lelya when you get her in your hands. I’ll be looking forward to read all of your happy posts and reviews.
