Leshiy – my thoughts & photos
Yeah! Arrived! The woodland goblin ‘Leshiy’ landed in my hands quite recently. I’m not able to tell you too many details right now, I’m still too excited. And I need to use it for a while…
I don’t have an extensive range of scopes to try on my Leshiy – so for now I can tell you, that my SWFA 1-4×24 with MilQuad reticle seems to be an awesome choice for general shooting. I’ll later try also Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8×32 (but the reticle is a bit on a thick side) and last week I ordered Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 (superb reticle!) so I should be busy playing with Hawke soon. So far SWFA works great.
I’ve tried two bipods, short Harris and some kind of cheap ebay bipod. Harris is superbly stabile, but the ebay one is more compact and lighter.
And last but not least (for today) – it can be carried inside virtually ANY backpack! It’s small enough to be carried in Tasmanian Tiger ‘Essential’ which is 6 (six!) liters pack. It’s very packable. Love it! Much more soon. Very soon!

Hey Piter, my 1,1L bottle works nice to fill the Leshiy. I think it was only slightly heavier than your 0.5L bottle empty. But fill it to 300 bar and it gains around 800 grams! No regrets so far, although the bottle is a bit big lol. Still fits in the backpack with Leshiy though.

The Leshiy is so handy from the car, I was able to take these pigeons out to 80 yards. The sound of the gun is pleasant. My friend thinks it sounds like a toy.
This is not exactly the Leshiy photo but still contains part of it. I just got a knife, which matches my gin perfectly… digicamo handle and black hardware:

They should make a black version of that gearskin, or a hunters camo like realtree. But great looking pic and gun, just so very expensive…

About the rail – it’s not a problem at all with the number of various mounts & rings available today. Just pick a mount, which is high enough. That last one on my Hawke scope is UTG medium – I wanted the scope to be as low on the gun as possible, so the clearence is just about 1mm (hardly visible in the pic) but it’s perfect and looks great too in real life. I could have taken higher rings but just I didn’t want.
What’s the name of that grip? Where can it be bought?
I think that the scope rail should be higher. It is really tricky to fit any reasonable scope but we all know about it.
I tried also Magpul but this one is much better option if you need a grip. To close Leshiy fully for transport you need to remove a grip and with this one (lever operated) it takes one second and zero tools. With Magpul you need to use screwdriver and take the screw out of the grip, which takes much more time and requires tools.
However, I shoot mine a lot in ‘bare’ configuration. And it’s fine.

Adding something to the bottom rail is really something to consider. While his pictures are stunning, they do offer warrant as well! If you have noticed with mine, I put a rail cover that I have modified, behind my bipod. While testing and tuning my Leshiy, I was getting a bruise from the sharp edges of the pic rail. It’s just the nature of the beast I guess. It’s nice to see some other options!

It’s a cool setup! Man, I’d like to shoot a bit but it’s so freezing in my area that shooting is no fun at all. -12 C last weekend :/
