Leshiy – my thoughts & photos
Yeah! Arrived! The woodland goblin ‘Leshiy’ landed in my hands quite recently. I’m not able to tell you too many details right now, I’m still too excited. And I need to use it for a while…
I don’t have an extensive range of scopes to try on my Leshiy – so for now I can tell you, that my SWFA 1-4×24 with MilQuad reticle seems to be an awesome choice for general shooting. I’ll later try also Vortex Diamondback HP 2-8×32 (but the reticle is a bit on a thick side) and last week I ordered Hawke Airmax 2-7×32 (superb reticle!) so I should be busy playing with Hawke soon. So far SWFA works great.
I’ve tried two bipods, short Harris and some kind of cheap ebay bipod. Harris is superbly stabile, but the ebay one is more compact and lighter.
And last but not least (for today) – it can be carried inside virtually ANY backpack! It’s small enough to be carried in Tasmanian Tiger ‘Essential’ which is 6 (six!) liters pack. It’s very packable. Love it! Much more soon. Very soon!

Small update after weekend… I’m affraid it can take a week or two before I’m able to check that Hawke Airmax at 50/75 yards… weather here is really not airgun friendly, wet snow falling, wet snow in the field, some wind too. It should get better when the transition from fall to winter is finally over. Hopefully soon.

I’ve never heard about this trick before. I always try to adjust reticle brightness to actual lighting conditions so I must have been wrong my whole [shooting] life…
1moa my ass, many of them claim 1moa but they are larger than holosuns 2MOA.
you can make it smaller by turning the brightness down.
it is a .177 so no point shooting it out to 75 in my opinion. it will have less than 55% of retained energy so it will be less than 10fpe. closer to 8-9 realistically.
I’ll surely try some sort of redpoint on my Leshiy but I need to do some more research. This one is described as 2 MOA (center dot) which would be too big for Leshiy. 1 MOA would be better. But I need to wait a bit… just got Hawke (as posted here) and Leupold for my Theoben SLR, and I absolutely want 350mm barrel/kit in .177 so… slowly as my resources are not unlimited 😉

We’ve got first snow this weekend. Checked the Leshiy in quite hostile wet winter environment today… no problem at all. It’s tough as nails and really, not much to rust. Awesome outdoor airgun…
The coolest thing about Leshiy is the overall package size when folded. It’s tiny. Most of my packs just swallow Leshiy without even thinking about it. Of course some packs are better than the rest and so far without a doubt my #1 is Prometheus Design Werx (PDW) SHADO pack. I adapted optional PDW molle/velcro EDC pannel by putting on it a big padded muzzle & scope shield cup and single velcro fixing strap. That way Leshiy doesn’t rattle around and stays safe in it’s own compartment. Padded shield cup protects muzzle and front end of my scope from contact with concrete, floor, etc. It takes two seconds (or less?) to open bag, undo velcro strap and draw. Fast enough? Guess so…
Sfp models might work better.
Cause I was tempted to buy it but it didn’t last long after you listed it. I was hesitant due to the reticle as well.

We’ve got still really not shooting-friendly weather but it should change next week.
