Lurker #1
Several days ago I got an e-mail from Lurker #1 asking if I’d like to do breakfast and maybe do some shooting. I didn’t know it but he’s 1 hour away. Well after he said he’d buy I said hell yes, why not. So we met this morning at Bob Evans in Findlay and had a nice chat. Afterwards we headed to my place to punch some paper. We got talking about Hoots vent holes for his Vulcan and decided to do his.
Here’s Lurker #1 taking apart the schroud…..

it was a great time and we did a lot of shooting. Look out Ernest you may be getting another Vulcan to tune……..

Zonk when you get back from your driveway with your Vulcan in your truck do a video of that straw shoot. You don’t have to do it from the hip we will understand

I like to lay the straw length wise and shoot through it, now that’s a challenge.

Zonk did something with it and said we were shooting at 48 yards.
That sounds like the only good use for a cig though.

Hey Zonk,
I need my scope zero’d again ❗
While I was getting familiar with “Chloe” (that’s what I decided to call my Vulcan cuz I like to rest my cheek on her b-ba-butt)
While contemplating that pecarious position I realized the QD scope mounts were on the wrong side preventing the use of the side focus wheel. My 1st attempt to correct it failed as I discovered the scope was looking back at me. Chloe won that stare down but I got the last word in when she couldn’t hear of course. I’ve got her looking the other way now but probably off a bit cock-eyed. She goes off very easily now that I played with her trigger. And she demands that I be very gentle and deliberate now. And does she ever respond ❗ WOW, what a bang ❗ i had to put the shroud back on to muzzle her.
I just thought something was missing. Zonk, did the Misses know you sparked one just because you had a guest as an excuse?

eelect, no safari this time. But Zonk sure has a beautiful homestead there in the Black Swamp. Zonk said he saw one bird but it must have been following me. The local birds don’t dare get close to that area.

Nothing extra ordinary on this picture. Just wondering what Zonk was about to say when you took the picture. I must say you have a nice rest. Gun ain’t going anywhere. So did Zonk take you on a safari or just ended up messing with shroud?

And it is easier to operate for us right handed shooters.
I gave the lefty a good run of about 700 rounds and thought it was OK.
Hoot: you suggested 1.5mm holes so we did 5 and it was hard to tell the difference for a .22.
1.5mm is about 0.060″ and I increased them to 0.074″ and now notice a difference. I don’t want to overdo it but may map it out and put 4 more in line but centered on the K valves.

My closest neighbor hears clicking noise when I am shooting in my enclosed patio. It would help if she would use her A/C and close her window but I won’t complain. And I will continue to enjoy an occasional dinner or desert. It’s nice to be friends with a good neighbor that wants me to shoot stray cats.
