Marauder pistol
OK so I pluncked down the cash for a Marauder pistol with a swift 4x scope and mounts. Heard so much negative I have held off this long! 😳
I hope I get it to shoot one type of pellet decent as most have reported.
Will not be in for a coup-le weeks but at least I took the plunge!

BTW, if it is 7/64, that is .109 not .119.
I’m shooting Crosman Premier Domed 14.3 grain pellets. Any suggestions for a good velocity with these? I’m getting between 700 to just over 800 with various hammer spring settings. But if I set the hammer spring too tight, it gets very difficult to cock and I’m worried I might break something quickly if I leave it that high of tension.
Has anyone found the value of shortening the hammer throw? It seems for high power, it is best to leave it maxed out (which means longest possible hammer throw).

I ordered it online and the conversion rate at that time, with shipping, cost me about $12.00 total USD. The gentleman that runs it is a very nice man and I spoke to him by phone.
It’s a drop in replacement spring and the results are simply amazing. The only two mods I made to my Prods were the transfer port enlargement, I used a hand drill on the OEM Transfer Port, and the GMAC spring.
Anyone who doesn’t do this simple mod is passing up turning a great little pistol/carbine into a real heavy hitting hammer!
I found out about this spring from another posting. His results were so startling that I had to try it and am I ever glad I did!
You can probably find a similar spring in the US, but this one works now, you don’t have to measure coils and compression psi, or any of that technical stuff. Just order the spring, toss the little rod in the trash and put that bad boy to work. You might need to adjust your hammer throw and duration with a hex wrench to max out fps, but that’s easily done, if done carefully, slowly, and you write down how many turns in/out you did. That way you can return to factory settings if you need to.

It is a 22xx spring. comes with a rod…discard the rod and just replace the hammer spring with the GMAC and you will be getting 800+ fps for two good mags, plus high power for the third.
This isn’t a gimmick. I did it and so have several others. The results are repeatable. The GMAC spring costs about $12.50 USD and arrives in a couple weeks via air mail. GMAC is ultra reliable British supplier.
You won’t believe the results. I’ve done this on two Prods. I plan on doing it again on a third.
Further, I went .132 on that transfer port. Just drilled it out and it worked fine.
Happy times with this little power house.

Not too many critters will stand up to a predator smacking them in the head at 700 fps or so under 30 yards

took the gun apart drilled the port and shot over chrono in about 45 minutes. 724 fps first shot! wow
I will continue my test over chrono tuesday night hopefully.
Ok so here are some real world results. I started with 3000 psi and kodiac extra heavy pellets. They were in the low 500’s and I wanted to try to get some more fps. I switched to predators because they shoot crazy fast in my Condor or Daystate (too loud they get the sonic crack!)

2700 psi 599,617,621,626,632,635,630,633 fps
2200 psi 631,641,645,646,641,634,645 fps
2000 psi 634,646,642,634,630,629,627,619 fps

Hi Hoot. Yes, those are the two mods to make to get high power, but I think there is no point in drilling transfer port sleeve more than 7/64″ as that is the size of the outlet of the air valve going into this sleeve from the air tube.
Also, have you posted your shot strings anywhere? I’d love to see them. I’m getting a high of 794 fps with a 1.5″ long spring using .041″ wire .30″ diameter and my transport sleeve is 7/64″ supplied by Dave here on the forum. I’m getting 16 shots within 25 fps of that maximum.
