Marauder pistol
OK so I pluncked down the cash for a Marauder pistol with a swift 4x scope and mounts. Heard so much negative I have held off this long! 😳
I hope I get it to shoot one type of pellet decent as most have reported.
Will not be in for a coup-le weeks but at least I took the plunge!

I got it took it out of boxes and chearged. I shot about 24 shots and then decided it was not hitting that hard! I maxed adjustments and what a difference! I could hear the difference when trigger was pulled and when it hit my clay box! I will get chrono out sooner or later but this thing hits hard now! I only shot at 18 feet in basement but tight groups with a couple pellets. Predators grouped second best.
I am not giving up on my .25 Maruader as my neighborhood squirrel killer. I was thinking more of my woods squirrel killer for when they annoy me.
Mine shot 1 1/2″ groups at 21 FEET!!! It was a POS out of the box…with any pellet. I sent back to crosman and a rep named Jan took care of it for me. She told me that she pulled a new on off the shelf and hand carried it to the techs. They did something, or didn’t do something…I don’t know, but this one shoots very accurately. It was shooting around 585fps up to 685fps and back down again over 48 shots. I cranked up the hammer spring which is now giving me 700fps for 3 or 4 magazines, (24-32 shots). I have shot some critters, but it doesn’t anchor them like the .25 Marauder. I had to do a commando raid into my neighbor’s yard to recover a ground squirrel that got away. It didn’t go far with that 14.3gr CP in its head, but it did get away. That never happens with the .25 Marauder. It’s a good little gun when it shoots straight and if I don’t ask too much from it. It’s great for shooting cans.

Mine shoots crosman premier domed pellets very accurately most of the time with occasional fliers.
I killed a tree squirrel with it at 45 yards, but I was somewhat lucky. He gave me a very big target and the pellet entered through his wrist and went into his chest cavity. He jumped onto the tree, then fell about 15 seconds later.
I had to send back my first P-rod which had problems (leaked at pressure guage and sprayed pellets inaccurately), but Crosman sent me a new one that is fine.
I can get decent groups out to 30 yards, but not always….who knows why. At 10 yards, it shoots a single ragged hole when bench rested.
I did all sorts of modifications, but in hind sight, I wish I had just left it stock. That seems to be the best balance of power and shot count. I do have a slightly longer/stiffer hammer spring so I can shoot from 3000 psi fill. The stock spring favors a max fill around 2700 psi.

Note the stock tranfer port is .080 inches.

If you need it quieter, the Jim Gaska shroud extension is a great value and really helps get it quieter. It seems a bit loud in the stock set-up, but is fine with the extension.

I need it for 20 yards and under so hopefully it will do the job with one pellet or another. come on predators! 😆
The Prod is servicable…if it shoots straight out of the box, but you will go back to your .25 Marauder if you are trying to anchor the critters. I sincerely hope yours shoots better than mine did out of the box.The good news is that crosman will make it right sooner, or later.
dam a fox squirrel at 60 yards sounds good. I was hoping to take graay squirrels at under 30 yards! that makes me feel confident in my purchase now. I was reading about the AF pistol and thinking I made a hasty mistake. cannot wait to get it I imagine with Christmas things will be slow shipping but it is all good!

Mine likes Crosman hp pellets.
I’ve taken 6 crows with mine 30-35 yards & a big fox squirrel at 60 yards.
The guns are up to the task.
Slayer – got one that looooves the JSB 18.g. I use it to shoot 10 meter indoor silhouettes with the shoulder stock. Haven’t shot a 40 yet 😥 but nothin less than a 36 every time.
CP shoot well too without as much of a holdover.
Predators are my killing choice. Accurate enough out to 40 yards. The only thing I’ve done is drill out the (aluminum tube) valve between the barrel and the air tube to 7/64″ (.109″) and crank down the hammer spring. (15 good shots starting at 2700psi 675fps with the 18.1g) Tried other sizes of the air tube changing valve and hammer spring settings and didn’t seem to improve a whole lot. Mostly take from Peter to give to Paul type of performance.

If you do only one mod, get ya some more of the little blue tubes (I don’t remember what their official title is) and drill them out 1/64″ at a time. After trying EVERYTHING on youtube, all the forums, et.al. I found that drilling out the alum blue tube (valve?) to 7/64″ (.119″) and turning the hammer spring all the way in, putting leaving everything else back the way the gun came and charging the pistol to 2700psi gave me the best shot curve and accuracy with mine shooting JSB 18.1.
BTW mine loves the Predators too. JSB’s just group a little tighter.
