Mutant Test Groups – Different Barrels
Hello Everyone,
I guess I need to spend more time on the Forums. Here is another post that I copied.
I am now retired from the Airgun Retail business and find myself with time for FUN projects.
I was up visiting Peter Plesinger, the former owner of TopGun Airguns up in Phoenix. He had some Taipan .22 Caliber Mutants for sale with different barrels. I decided to see what all the chatter was about regarding the different barrels being used.
The picture shows the results. Here are the conditions:
27 Yards
Slight crossing wind
Rickety bench and rest
Five shot groups and four different target
JSB 18.1 pellets – NOT LUBED
Barrels:
CZ – CZ manufactured barrels
CR – Barrels made in the Czech Republic
?? – Can’t tell if they are German or Korean barrels. Most likely Korean.
The picture is worth more than 1,000 words.
The bottom right hand group for 645 was shot off balance and my right eye being filled with shadows. I will reshoot that one when I have more time.

Congratulations Steve you have switched fallacies. First you used a straw man now you are attempting to use a red herring to redirect.
So let’s stay on topic. A US quarter is .950″. In the other topic started by you (link provided below ) I provided examples of a 100 yard group shot with my mutant that has an aftermarket barrel. I show three photos and provide a US quarter in order to reference the group size. Since the US quarter is .950″ and MOA at 100 yards is 1.047″ everyone can clearly see that only one group is MOA. In this simple example it is very obvious I never claimed to shoot sub MOA at 100 yards everytime. An experienced shooter can tell when the mistake was his vs the gun. I expect a 1500 dollar airgun to exceed my abilities.

Now I ask again for the physics lesson regarding short guns you offered
