Oh well…. the name doesn’t matter so much anyway.
I wonder what was used in the Ukrainian language to translate to the name “Mutant Veteran”?
There’s a lot of better choices out there like Mutant Specialist, Mutant Aristocrat, Mutant Connoisseur and Mutant Virtuoso that’s more palatable. Hell, I’d even go with Mutant “Big Shot” over Veteran. Mutant Marvel is another better sounding choice.
How many of you would buy a .25 shorty?
I’m just waiting for the .22 Standard to be available so I can buy one. Not that it matters but what’s the new name? Taipan Mutant Veteran, Taipan Veteran, Mutant Veteran? Sign me up for one no matter what it’s called :biggrinn:

The name is “Tamaun”. I don’t think you will find them at the IWA. Just like many others out there… have you seen the maker of the Raptor on the list? how about RAR ?
Its really hard to compare the 2….. there is a few things give the cricket more shots…
First the Airtube is larger. i believe it is around 200cc
2nd the Barrel is 3 inches longer…
so in order to Level the Field You would need either Add more capacity, and barrel length to the mutant or take it away from the Cricket.
Then both guns would need to be setup and tuned alike. with out going there it would be unfair to compare.
I know when i had a cricket compact in .22 i sent it to ernest. he tuned it to shoot 904 Fps ….. it had a 4 fps spread. and i could only get 33 shots.
My .22 shorty gets around 35 shots at 865 ish…. if i turned it up to 904 fps I’m thinking i would get maybe 25 shots Now add 3 inches to my barrel and give me 60 more cc’s and I’m thinking i could get around 40+ shots….
The mutant has shown to be very efficient in .22 caliber.. i don’t see a reason why the .177 couldn’t be squeezed for better efficiency.

You are correct the shot count is endless with the Cricket .177 Compact, not so with the Mutant .177. I cant imagine any kind of decent shot count with a Mutant .25 shorty.
Tell Dimitry to post a photo of the new Mutant! I think the vast majority of those from the states want a .25 short but I actually prefer a .177 short. Unless you’ve own a Cricket Compact in .177 you don’t have an appreciation of how many shots you can shoot on a single fill. It’s endless that I lose track and don’t even bother to count. A Mutant short .177 would probably be near silent without the Cricket ping.
I hope the come out with the short as well, a lot of people want them, including me, a 25 will be awesome but I’ll be happy with the 22 as well, hopefully they change the stock for a better looking one, they can keep the rest, it’s perfect the way it is now!!!
