New 25 shorty is in stop the press……
Back in black…..
Well I got my new 25 shorty here she is.

It shoots 40 fpe, it twice as loud, but not bad.
The air tube seams, just a little bit bigger in o.d.
I really like it, even though, I’ve only ran about 4 mags of ammo.
Using Air arms 25 gr pellets, it is stacking them @ 25 yards. :biggrinn:

That was a real Hootenanny, post up a pic of yours and we’ll then be able to visually dissect that turd specimen properly to ascertain its digested constituents.
:hoot:
My stock’s grain and color reminds me of a large, function-formed turd. Where does he get that wood?
Hoot:
I agree, those two sticks he got are awesome. Now if you could get a .22 long with a stick like that, it would be really nice.
Then have the ability to shoot 21 gr. Kodiacs @ 970fps
and cut one ragged hole all in one nice little package, that would be a solid 50 fpe class rifle long as the accuracy stayed locked on…
Mikey,
You have a great day man, look forward to reading and seeing your shorty.
Haha, I bet Mike only posts once tomorrow, just to say the airgun is fucking tits! He’s gonna spend all day and into the night shooting it and stroking it. Come night time he’ll be cleaning it atop the roof whilst contemplating…all crazy-like.
Fox, those stocks will shut the fuck out of anyone’s yap about Taipans. I think Taipans are sexy, but your stocks…wowsers!

Foxback
Did you already get an after market stock for your 25 shorty???
I found my perfect guns, a 177 Veteran converted from a 25 shorty
22 Shorty
25 shorty,
Now how cool would that be,,,
As soon, Tomorrow as I get my 25 shorty in and fire a few thousand rounds and get it paid off,
I am going to get hold of some of the experts on here, Dman can do it, and Earnest I am sure.
To see about converting a 25 shorty into fire breathing 177,
Just thinking out of the box and ahead of times.
Mike
Thanks for the info and the pics. 14″ and this much energy, wow…
That is nice wood too, like the stick you got there. What a nice shorty man, you should be pleased.
Rowdy…
I think the barrels are 14 inches long.

Here you go.

Mike,
I understand what your saying. I will say one thing here about what you’re pointing out 🙂 Its just me and my wants, needs and desires; I really ok with where things like the Mutant comes from!
The end result of something like the new Mutant Veteran is all about pride and craftsmanship, plane and simple. The were and how modern a place its built-in is only a limiting factor as to how quick it can be produced, not that something can’t come from a ol’e hole in the wall machine shop…
People sometimes get tunnel vision as to what they think is going on and don’t see the whole picture. The whole picture sometimes is hard to see for some. Some people just are very limited in one small corner of things and once that fills their conception they see nothing else. That can be good and or bad.
Thats just my take…
Rowdy
I agree 100 %
But it drives me crazy that there are a LOT of air gunners over on AGN, That think the Mutant veteran was made in a garage,
They also think FX is the only quality gun,
I would love to see Ted with a 25 Veteran Mutant,
It would blow all the stupid fuckers minds on AGN, I know Ted would cream his pants shooting the gun..
I am not trying to change the world just open there eyes up and let them know FX is not the cream of the crop…
Most of my post are deleted there, or sent to a private box.
I think most of there money comes from AOA,
I did promise a full report on my 25 shorty when I get it in,
I do not want to take Money out of there pockets over there, If something good, neat, cool . and is super accurate, I should have a say so,,,
Unless they call there site, The FX site, Then I will back away, as I have no FX guns.
Mike
Yes, you know there are some really good air rifles out now, but if there is an area where they scimp on the time and money, its the trigger and/or barrel.
Its really easy for them to do that in either or both of these two areas, as you actually spend a butt load of both money and time to get these two areas correct. In an air rifle they just blow off as such, just an air rifle.
Me, I am just the opposite about this. I think first off all guns should have awesome triggers. The air rifles especially, as its what many of us learned with in the beginning of how you get the absolute best discipline with all sorts of things like breathing, sighting and trigger manipulation and its safety…
+1 :8:
The trigger is the connection between the shooter and the gun, actually it makes the gun an extension of yourself.
A great trigger is when your brain releases the shot and there is simply nothing between your sight and the target.
It is like you shoot with your eyes.
:2cents:
So many of the barrels made now days, are roughed in and sold not finished out. Why the question I asked about the breakin time.
The biggest compliment to Mutant for not just the awesome trigger they have, but they obviously have their barrel finished as well. That is not just the talent to hold their product from the market till they have it completed, when so many others sale theirs at half assed; but the guys at Mutant know how to and are blessed with their conviction to build these rifles to nothing short of perfection…
The Mutant Craftsman here are way ahead of their competition in the PCP market place in the how to build these right, and they also have the drive to complete these to the Nth degree… Not many manufacturers do all this right.
Its a got to have for me just their trigger alone. The rifle with its accuracy and energy level and still have a good shot count, the appearance they have from those here on this web site, its a great rifle..
To be perfectly honest, most of my high-end pcps were like this, only the Edguns were rated 3000+ shots break-in time
My gun is brown…black was sold out. I like brown…it’s the color of Sir Ville’s nose!
I fill to 200 bar because I’ve always found that above 200 bar there is a loss of air usage efficiency, per shot, until the pressure gets down around 200 bar. That seems to have been the case in most of the pcp’s we have posted about. Not everyone will agree with this…usually those with compressors that go above 200 bar tend to prefer higher fills. More power to them!
Plus, I fill to 200 bar because I don’t have a home compressor, I use a 150 cf scuba tank that will take a 3450 psi fill. And…I don’t need to squeeze out the maximum number of shots per fill because I don’t shoot thousands of pellets per year, like some of the hard core members here.
Hoot:
Would be nice to discover if the new Veteran regulator (and surrounding setup) is able to handle high pressures (more than 220 bars) more efficiently.
This would be really a huge step forward in the PCP arena. :8:
Anyway so far the Mutant / Veteran have proved to come from a different “PCP engineering planet”.
Break-in time = 1 shot

Thx guys….
I’d recommend a 25. shorty to anybody.
I really like mine.
Mike you going too love your new Taipan, the reg is great.

I the newest stock is on the 22. Taipan that I got a while back and waited for a 2nd Taipan too use it on.
Rowdy…. Why not just buy a new improved Taipan Veteran .22 Standard.
I really think that you would really like it. It gets something like 70-80 shots.
How many does a guy need on a fill any way. Unless your sitting on a prairie dog town, or something. And if they ever make a long the sell it off & get a long then.
I just think, it’s going too be a long wait. :angrymob:
