Q:

New .25 Vulcan

Well , I got ( SPOCK ) late yesterday . Didn’t come Friday due to bad weather , so they say . Number N1650016 , I thought the new shrouds where vented but haven’t
seen any vent holes yet . Only had time to mount my Vism 3-9x42mm with built-in red laser and had to go out to the local gun shop to get the 1″ scope mounts be-
cause the mounts on my Talon SS were to small for the Vulcan . I’ll remove the shroud tomorrow and see if it has been vented if it isn’t may have to call Tony and
ask him if it should have been . Shot one 9 round mag. through it just to see how it felt and I liked it alot , much better than having to reload a single shot gun . I
love the bolt action and also my trigger , it is nice and crisp and for me needs no adjustments . I still need to zero my scope and will do so as time allows , have
alot of things on the burner at the moment that supercedes playing with my new toy . It is louder than my .25 Talon SS and I’m not sure if it is from the barrel or
ping , trigger slap , etc . will work on it and see what it is . If it’s the shroud I’ll get in touch with Donny . Have a nice ECHO 1 , 32″ rifle case for it from ECHO 1
USA.COM . has 4 outside compartments with 4 inside velcro straps to secure it with . Has a standard outside carrying strap and an over the shoulder carrying strap
as well . If for any reasons I can’t make Spock backyard friendly then I’ll keep my .25 Talon SS for that and buy it a new scope and my brother is going to be shit
out of luck on getting the Talon and Spock will serve as the new Delta Master Blaster .

Need to see how these delrin mods will hold up.

If hammer would be buried like the cricket hammer is then it would be quiet too.

My Vulcan appears to be fixed it is with Ernest getting depinged. I shot it last weekend it was grouping up tight. I think Ern is going to just dip the entire action in rubber and rubberize it. :biggrinn:

Well I ordered more pellets for my .25 Vulcan . H&N 31.02 gr. , JSB 25.39 gr. , JSB MKII Heavy 33.95 gr. and Eun Jin 35.8 gr . Also ordered a Prochrony
which I plan to use on all four pellet grains at 25 yds. , 50 yds. 75 yds. and 100 yds. This will not be an overnight deal . I will chrony all four pellets
first at 25 yds. and then work my way up to 50 , 75 , 100 yards as time allows me to do so . May take a few months but can only shoot when time and
conditions allow . Will only be able to post without pictures of targets but will give shot group measurements and shot groups will be 25 shots per group .
Sorry about not being able to post pictures of targets , still too stupid on how to take and post pictures , also my CP is now five years old and I will be
buying a newer up-dated one and maybe my granddaughter will be able to teach me how to do pictures .

Good question Bird. I’ve taken rabbits, coons, cats, birds and over 75 woodchucks with my .22 PCPs. All have dropped dead with one shot. Do I need a .25 Vulcan probably not, I just wish Tony or Evgeny or someone would come up with the solution to this velocity drop so we can get this thing fixed once and for all. The list is growing of all the people having trouble with the .22s.

Zonk , the bolt action on my Vulcan is starting to get a lot more smoother while cycling . Like the old saying ,time and patience will cure everything .
I do not know why some of the .22 Vulcans are having the troubles that they are having and I have not heard of any .25 Vulcans having anything
problems at all . I,m really sad to hear that any Vulcan owner has any problems at all because I have not had any and my Vulcan is the best air
gun that I have ever shot and it is the third air gun that I have ever owned . I truely love shooting this gun , it is the best next thing to shooting
my semi-auto Colt .22 rim fire Stage Coach rifle that I have used for more years for squirrel hunting then I can remember . I know since you have
had problems with your .22 Vulcan wheather you should spend more money on a .25 Vulcan or not . You have 45,000 .22 cal. pellets already and
at least one other .22 cal. PCP air rifle to shoot them with . Is it really in your best interest to buy a .25 Cal. rifle ? That will have to be your dec-
ision alone . The .25 Vulcan is for me the best caliber and rifle to shoot as a repeater in a PCP air gun . The only thing sweeter would be minimun
a .22 cal. semi-auto bullpup style only . You can shoot larger game with a.25 cal. gun , but , for you is it really practical ?

Going out in a few minutes to crony again. Will report back shortly.

How’s your 22 now Zonk?

Not bad bird. Is it getting any smoother? I may be adding a .25 to my collection also.

Well , so far I have 500 pellets through my .25 Vulcan with no problems of any kind . Today I decided to re-zero my Visms 3-9×42 mm scope from
50 yds. to 60 yds. shooting JSB Match Diabolo Exact 25.39 gr. and H&N Baracuda Hunter Extreme 28.40 gr. pellets . After re-zeroing the Kings were
shooting a 3/4 ” bullseye target almost dead center at 60 yds. and the Cudas were shooting about 1/8 ” higher . Maybe it was because I was
shooting with bags as a shooting support and was not using a firmer shooting support because the heavier pellets should have been hitting the
target a tad lower because of the weight . Both grains were shot from 250 Bars down to 150 Bars . I really need to get a good chrony and see the
speed my pellets are actually shooting at . Still need to get JSB KINGS MKII Heavy 33.95 gr. and H&N 31.02 gr. and see what distance they will
perform best at .

FROM : THE BIRDMAN

Don’t have a chronony as yet, however , from what Tony says my .25 Vulcan shooting JSB Kings 25.39 gr. pellets filled to 3500 PSI
is shooting JSB Kings’ 25.39 gr. pellets at 914.6737 . My 3-9x42mm scope is zeroed at 50 yds. and the Kings POI is 1 5/8″ above center
of the bullseye . Shooting H&N Cuda’s 28.40 gr. pellets at 58yds. and gun is filled at 250 Bars POI is dead center of bullseye . Have shot
EJ’s 35.8 gr. pellets at 15yds only and so far the POI is also dead center to the bullseye . I want to get some H&N 31.02gr. and some JSB
Kings 33.95 gr. pellets and see how well they shoot at different distances . I’m thinking unless I change my HST that a 25.39gr. pellet
should be the smallest grain to shoot . The larger grain pellets are shooting very nice at the present HST setting . I will get a Prochrono
so I will know what speed the heavier pellets are shooting at . For now , does anyone have from the info given any thoughts ? . All shooting
is done starting off at a 250 Bar fill down to 150 Bars . Max is 36 shots per fill .

I was able to take my .25 Vulcan out today for a short time for some target practice . The target was set-up at 58 yards . Wind was blowing about
35 m.p.h. , but target was set-up so I was shooting with the wind . Gun filled to 250 Bars and shooting 5 shot groups and then refilling to 250 Bars .
Scope 3-9×42 zeroed at 50 yds. First 5 shots shooting Kings 25.39 gr. pellet POI 1 5/8″ above center of bullseye and all holes could be covered with
a nickel coin . Second 5 shot group shooting Baracuda’s 28.40 gr. pellet POI all with-in the bullseye and could also be covered with a nickel coin .
Tried loading EJ’s 43.2 gr. pellet in the mag and it will fit but because the size of the skirt the magazine will not let the pellet rotate so you can
only load one pellet in the mag . I loaded it and shot it and the Vulcan can shoot this size grain , however , it doesn’t like it for long range . It
dropped 6″ below center of the target , may be good for very close range . I’ll only use it with my Talon SS which likes it at 20 yds. I forgot to
bring my EJ’s 35.8 gr. pellets so I will have to try them the next time . When I got home I did a mag check with the EJ’s 35.8 gr. pellet and it has
no problems fitting the mag . I have shot the Kings out to 192 yds. and was able to hit my target and I would like when I get the chance to see
how far and effective a heavier pellet over 25.39 gr. would work . I do know that the 28.40 gr. pellets will work nicely at 58 yds. Also , I think
even though I have never shot them that the Rat Sniper 32 gr. pellet could be a very nice grain to shoot .

Uncle Hoot it takes more balls to post these groups than non at all. Most of the time you get One group that gets posted but took about 7 tries to get the latest good one. That includes me too

Uncle Hoot. No worries you didn’t miss anything. I miss the Bulls eye because it distorts the target after a bit. After reading an article about accurate long distance shooting I can see why I should use my 2 piece setup.

:hoot:

I don’t see the big deal???

He missed the bulls eye on all but two occasions! Seems to me the kid needs some practice…

Or, perhaps I’m just missing something here.
