Q:

New adjustable TT Top Hat data

This is an update to my post on March 8.
I am using a .22 Condor, 24 inch barrel, with a TT adjustable TH and 25.4 JSB’s

I just got the adjustable TH from TT and wanted to post my most recent results.
PW-8, 2575 psi start, large insert

886,897,901,909,906-2500psi
885,917,909,910,910-2400
915,911,913,910,905-2300
899,900,895,892,910-2220
893,883,889,888,883-2120
884,883,885,884,883-2020
875,873,874,867,861-1950
863,863,858,866,850-1850

2450 start fill and PW at 4, large insert
900,897,916,910,902-2400
901,905,902,900,900-2315
899,896,897,894,898-2195
897.894,893,890.889-2090
881,879,880,871,875-2000

My general impressions are that it is using a lot less air (maybe half of the stock TH) and flattening things out. I am going to play around with some different PW settings and the smaller insert. Another thing I noticed is that my gun consistently groups the best when the tank pressure is between 2150 and 2375 regardless of other variables. I am not drawing any conclusions about this, I just wanted to share my data.

Comments appreciated.

This is a .22 cal

2500 psi
879,878,879,882,878,882,878,881,875,882,882,881,874,879,872,878,872,870,875,870 2210 end psi

That was the first 20 shoots, will work on target pics but have a trch problem

All groups were 5 shot at 25 yds, wind was variable at 5-10, groups were 1 to 1.6 MOA, so I think that is decent for the condition

Great ❗

I think a majority of .25 shooters prefer the 25.4gr JSBs so it looks like you hit the nail on the head

I would like to see the shot to shot FPS readings.
And some would probably like to see targets.

Ok, with the small insert and using 25.4g JSBs, here is what I have,

2500 psi start PW at 11
The first 20 shots were from 870-882 VERY flat, that brought the psi down to 2210
I then kept shooting another 20 and saw a very slow and consistent drop in V down to 830 fps and 1930 psi and ended the test

All of the 5 shots groups were good or better, decent POI hold as well

So far this is my favorite setup, 40 shots with good accuracy and low air use

Comments?

Pandemic,
You’re good. I put in your request for light scattered snow flurries 😀
The ALERTS are way south of you. St. Louis east 👿

dont say that everything you get hit with we get hit with

Pandemic,
Restrictor not needed for 71gr Black Mambas 860s FPS at 3000 PSI
Restrictor not needed for 43gr EunJins up to 1015 FPS but will need to lower PSI to flatten a bit I think.
Restrictor #1 (largest) looks good for 19.9 H&N Trophies around 820-825 FPS tethered with 3000 PSI. Without a restrictor screaming ear piercing.

Winter storm possible 4-8″ here for tomorrow 👿

Hopefully N3486N will have good results today 😎

Its good stuff!!

hows it going lurker i havent even had the chance to play with mine because im working on my TTTA video so my tank is all taken apart right now so sad there have been so many starlings in my back yard and only a loud ass gun lol i want my condor ss back lol video will be done this weekend

It is pretty slick, gives many options

 I’m very interested in what you get N3486N

I have my 12″ .177 working good and quiet with a light hammer and slightly ported valve but wonder if a new High Performance Quick Change might work even better. For now I’m using mine on my .25. So many options I just jump around :banghead:

I’m glad to see you have a direction. :thumb:

I will post my small insert number this weekend, interesting I think.

Nice numbers! Thanks for sharing!!!

I have the small insert in with the pw on 11. Good results.

It’s easy to get over 1,000 fps, but the pellets scatter like grass seed.

The best speed for those match ‘cudas is in the vicinity of 850 fps. I was just examining them very closely and there are some slightly undersized pellet heads in the tins. I noticed some were easier to load and mostly were flyers. Also, the tips are not consistent; some have a tiny “nipple” at the point and some are more rounded. Don’t know if it makes a difference, but I sorted them out to see.

Next shots will be at 1,800 starting psi pw3/8. With 2,000 psi, the groups were OK to poor for the first 20 shots. At 1,900 psi, it still took about 10 shots to improve.

Of course, the real trick is to put a regulator on these guns, for lower calibers.

For your setup, the small insert and a lower PW may give you what you want, once you determine the best pressure. The stock Condors are overpowered for .22. Figuring out how to “strangle them” helps a lot.

I am going to test today with the small insert and higher pw setting and see what happens. I am getting like results with tank pressure as well.

Bogman, what type of velocity are you seeing?
