Q:

New Condor Valve

Started on this today. Had this idea and went with it. Making new condor type valve with larger stem. Will be .312″ with a .250″ or maybe .260″ hole. I’m finding the Blod type valves need a lot of hammer spring and condor valve doesn’t. Changed the spring retainer threads and the front to make room for larger stem and o ring. Have to remake the brass piece. I actually made it before the body just to check on single pointing the threads.

Thanks Gfinch! That’s a etac-hpa that fits a carbon fiber paintball tank.

I bought a jds regulator but have never used it since I thought that I would not have enough volume and air flow to push a 308. It wouldn’t be an issue with 22 or 25 caliber and I believe with the extra volume in Doug’s valve it won’t be an issue for the 308 now. Just my speculations though.

For now I am just running the new valve on a airforce tank.

Thats bitchin, (slang : remarkably good or cool <a bitchin’ car>)
A term from my past suddenly came to the present.
Is that a special E-tac or…. what bottle are you going to use and where to find it as I am looking for a lighter longer one then I just got thursday.

I’m very impressed with the quality and time that was put into this valve and looking forward to the extra power it will offer.

It may be a couple of days before I have everything balance and working together where I have numbers to post. My spring is a different weight and length and with my thick, humid Arkansas air I need to make a couple of shims and play with adjusting the top hat spacing to get maximum power.

Here’s what I did today.

It was hard getting a good picture of the Gun-Kote and showing the true color.

This is more what the OD green looks like and the color I will be doing my frame.

I got 170 fpe with 3300 psi and 89.5 gr. So 3300 psi reg would work good. Your chamber should be more than enough. The valve in the pic is .308 and .25 is basically the same just smaller stem and no holes.

I’m looking at getting 40 valves made. Went to a machine shop and I have to do 40 pieces of each to make it worth his while. So I will be getting 40 .25 stems and just have to make .308 stems if I need to. All the other pieces are the same and I will have to bore the front piece also.

This Valve is making me drool… here’s some questions though: Dyota100: have you been able to calculate how many cc’s of air this thing uses per shot? if I were to use, say- a JDS airman reg- what PSI output should I get? 160fpe sounds amazing. reason I ask, is that I’m building a remote set up so that I can use at least a 68cu in 4500 psi tank, (don’t really want to go bigger) without it being all funky looking/feeling on the gun. I’m going to have someone make an air reservoir (like the edge..only bigger 1.25″ O.D. .095″ wall 4130 seamless) to use as a “pre-chamber”, with a remote line running to the tank. I need to make sure that the prechamber is going to be big enough to feed this monster valve If I ever get around to afford one. the prechamber, will act as the stock as well- think Edge, or Tubb 2k or a tube gun…

LW has .308. I just ordered 3 last week. I can machine you a barrel. You need a hammer and a breech also.

With a 62ci tank I can get around 10 good shots.

Wow, I know I want one of those valves, but where can I get me a .308 barrel ?

Also, how many shots per fill?

Not as much as I am!! 😆

Looking forward to it Tworr 😀

It should be here tomorrow or Saturday and then I can get some numbers out.

Tworr do you have some numbers for us?

Doug has out done himself again. Here’s his latest 308 valve that he’s been working on. The quality really shows in his work.

I asked for holes for a fill nipple and a gauge and the length to be just a little longer than his last.

Due to my barrel being a couple of inches shorter I expect to get a little less than the 270-260 fpe he is getting with the 157 grains and 240-230 fpe he is getting with the 118 grain bullets.

How awesome is that?

Any more news dude

Went shooting today 3 hrs away where it was 100+ degrees.

Don’t know if temp plays apart in fps.

.25 with my complete valve, 3300 fill 70.2 gr 7 rings

1312 JSB 25.4. Just wanted to see.

Forgot to add enough preload for the first shot or it would have broke a 1000 fps.

Was amazed how good the .308 shoots. I was shooting at 74 yds with 118 gr sized to a true .3080″. Shooting a 2″ diameter stick that I stuck in the ground that was parallel to the ground.

I kept shooting it until I almost shot through it. Finally I gave up because poi started to change due to under 2000 psi in tank. I will call and see if I can get a pic sent to me of it. I hit it 10 + times.
