Q:

New Condor Valve

Started on this today. Had this idea and went with it. Making new condor type valve with larger stem. Will be .312″ with a .250″ or maybe .260″ hole. I’m finding the Blod type valves need a lot of hammer spring and condor valve doesn’t. Changed the spring retainer threads and the front to make room for larger stem and o ring. Have to remake the brass piece. I actually made it before the body just to check on single pointing the threads.

Made a new breech today for .25. Was having issues with tophat o ring and it wasn’t sliding to smooth.

Also shortened hammer so PW will go to 12 instead of stopping at 8. Hammer went from 108 gr to 103 gr.

Took 4 shots with 89.5 gr 9 rings

925 fps
917 fps
909 fps
898 fps

170.1 fpe down to 160.3 fpe.

VERY NICE WORK!!! awesome!!!When you market them to us,Please put me on the list!thanks!

Less tophat gap. I picked up some stiffer springs for the valve and I’m hoping that will let me move the tophat out to .100″

Not often I’m right… 😯

How did you finally resolve the tank dump issue ?

Now lets get back to the .25 valve. Went to century spring to get some springs for the .308 valve. Decided to change my hammer spring setup also on .308 because of how pre loaded the hammer spring is. So I got a few and made sure I got one for the .25. Well to my surprise I broke 160 fpe. Here’s what I got today. All with 3200 psi fill

9 ring 89.5gr- 918 fps 167.5 fpe
7 ring 70.2gr- 973 fps 147.6 fpe
6 ring 62.0gr- 1008 fps 141.9 fpe

After the frustation with the .308 this made my day. I’m still going to get a 4500 psi tank and see how far I can go on pressure.

Wow! A great achievement and fitting reward for all the good work you’ve been doing. 😀 😀

Thanks. I wish I had the same luck with .308. I think I have it figured out but won’t know for a while. Remaking the hammer first and need to make a trigger guard so I’m not using a spring clamp to hold the spring plate tight.

Is somebody keeping track? Those look like records to me… Nice job!

lets celebrate and send it to me!!!

24″ barrel.

Those are some nice numbers, nice job! What length barrel are you using?

Yep it dumps the whole tank in one shot.

Looks good – that should dump as much air as you can provide.

That’s some fine toolin. Great job! My hands use to look just like that when I took metal shop in high school. It sure was nice having access to a full shop.
