"There are many like it but this one is MINE!"
Well I’ve put a few hundred pellets through my new R3M…I couldn’t contribute to “out past 50” thread as I only have 20yds in my little ass back yard. But I figured with all the repair threads on the R3 I would post what I think is some good stuff. Here are some groups and pics of my R3M…I really am liking it so far…despite my little issue of stripping out the heads of the trigger assembly screws I haven’t had any complaints. What do you all think?

Here are most of the major things. Don’t tell the wife. 😮 About to buy a Compact Cricket and a Compressor. 😯 It’s less than my airplane was or a Harley. 😆 😆 😆

I am using three heavy rubber bands to hold it solidly since the 30 cal shroud is offset and I don’t want it moving. The limit on joules is 75+ or 55 fpe so my 30 cal is too much power for the fpe calculation it appears but that isn’t really needed. The fps readings are just fine. I got 874, 880, 876 so far. It’s pretty darn close to my Gamma Master Chrony.
Quick question: when you guys use your combro’s do you simply hold it up to the barrel for every shot or use something like rubber bands to secure it in place while you shoot? I ask because I’ve seen videos where it is secured to the barrel like I mentioned, but I’ve also heard someone say that you must manualy hold it up for every shot. If it could be secured I think it would be a great tool for portable chrony testing 😎
Cheers
I don’t even want to think about how much money I have wrapped up in the stuff that I have bought to support my obsession!
4 Hawke scopes
A shot up Chrony
A ProChrono
4 Harris bipods
2 SCBA tanks
2, $500 camera tri pods that I can mount a Matador on
$300 video camera
OK; what else?
HEY WAIT!
Nevermind!
I don’t want to add up my air gun expenditures and, I don’t have a dog. 😳
And now; back to the regular scheduled programming that is now in progress!
Btango, that string looks good but; if you want to get REALLY Edgun anal, you could try turning the regulator down just a little, turning the HST screw out 2 turns and then turning it back in 1/4 turn at a time, shoot the gun 2 shots and see what speeds you are getting after each HST adjustment.
When the speeds top out, shoot the gun down past the regulator setting, refill and see what speeds you then have. While there is nothing wrong with your current string, I think that the reg is slightly too high and that you could pick up a couple more regulated shots with some adjustments. I like my Matadors to shoot in the 885 fps range.
A little tuning will really tighten up the max speed deviation and give you a lot tighter shot to shot variation. Plus, you will pick up a couple more regulated shots.
You know that you want to do it! 😆
I do…I do…but I am waiting for Ernest to restock his degasser/puller combo…I’ve seen the DIY but his looks much sturdier. If I don’t hear back from him soon, I’ll end up doing the brake fitting job. I also don’t want to scare myself by pressing on the valve with some object. I was pretty happy with the strings coming straight from Tony…I expected mid 900’s with 30-40 spread but was surprised to see avg 900fps. Did I mention I use N2? :suprisedn:
The most interresting thing here is that your Dog is smarter than you. :winkn:
My dog is smarter than your dog!

She’s beautiful. I don’t know if that would work with my little Chihuahua? Maybe in the prone position? A quatro-pod for my Cricket?
I had one of those EdGun-Dogs too untill he died, in a mature age of 13 years and one month. I´ll never have another Rottweiler again since Max (Max Factor von Messerschmidt, actually , according his Registered name from the Kennel) was the Dog of the Dog´s and i don´t think any “sequal” will ever live upto him. He was such great Guardian of the Family with unbelievably cool, strong Aura surrounding his being. He could literally stare other Dog´s – and most Humans too – into submission. I loved that Dog to bits.
We still have our PitBull´s and while really nice Clowns there´s something about a Rottweiler that isn´t found in any other Breed.
R.I.P Max ! :6:

What the hell? You guys are gonna give :hoot: a major mental befuddlement!
Great pooches all of them, even the Edgun. NZ’s Rotrest is choice!
Used to have Siberian huskies. Fed ’em mediocre dog food, venison scaps, rabbits, squirrels, and they ate feral cats 😯 When the vet said “This dog is in perfect shape; I mean exceptional. What do you feed him?” I couldn’t tell him “Well, if you let him, you’re waiting room will thin out!” Just got to keep up the worm meds. Crazy dog ate a whole deer cape, an empty rabbit’s NEST, unreal.
Looking back at AG costs is bad juju. The money is gone, don’t think about it or you’ll be spending more than that on shrinks and anti-depressants. Keep your eyes firmly focused on your next dream gun, even if it’s years away, and you’ll be OK. Remember… forward, not backward
You don’t have to hold it up there for every shot. You could but I wouldn’t recommend it. If you’re holding it slanted or off by a bit, you could damage the device. Instructions suggested using rubber bands but if you want it more secure, use the painter’s blue tape. The bottom piece is V shape so your barrel can sit in it easily.
Cheers

I´ve used mine about a year now and it sure is worth its price – that can´t be said about most other Chronographs. Cut a 2″ wide piece of Bicycle inner tube and you´re set. You know that you can sync the Combro up/down to match your other Chrono ? Good , that may – or may not – be an important factor for some guys. And you´re right – 75 J is the upper limit for that Combro. It´s designed for use in UK mainly for checking you´re under the FAC limit of 16J and Big Bore Airguns aren´t nearly as popular on this side of the Pond as they´re in US so guys who have over 65J AG´s are a rare breed. There are some BB afficionaos in Finland though due the “no limit for airgun power” law but Finland is one of the very few European countries having that freedom. For the time being ; There are opponents to it thus it may get changed.
