Q:

"There are many like it but this one is MINE!"

Well I’ve put a few hundred pellets through my new R3M…I couldn’t contribute to “out past 50” thread as I only have 20yds in my little ass back yard. But I figured with all the repair threads on the R3 I would post what I think is some good stuff. Here are some groups and pics of my R3M…I really am liking it so far…despite my little issue of stripping out the heads of the trigger assembly screws I haven’t had any complaints. What do you all think?

I only tried the Combro once last night with my 30 cal and got this:

Err fpe
874 fps

My gun is tuned to 875. You put in the pellet weight you are testing and it is supposed to calculate the fpe but the Err code says math error or number too large.

SECoda and I ordered it on the same day last week on Ebay. It shipped out of Canada and took about 1 week to arrive. Upon opening it, the unit feels very cheap. I had to loosen some screws in the unit to allow the piece that adjust up or down to fit. Didn’t take much but now it works great. I haven’t shot through it yet, but I was surprised that it aligned well even with my LDC on. SECoda mentioned that it is only for pellets up to .25. However, he was able to get the fps for his .30 cal but not the fpe. The fps is what we are looking for though so it works. It took me about 10 mins to figure out how to change the default settings. For example meters per second to feet per second, pellet weight.

Donny, you got a Combro, what do you think ???

I have a 22 cal FX Royale that I can’t sell and 4 Matadors that are keepers.

I don’t even want to think about how much money I have wrapped up in the stuff that I have bought to support my obsession!

4 Hawke scopes
A shot up Chrony
A ProChrono
4 Harris bipods
2 SCBA tanks
2, $500 camera tri pods that I can mount a Matador on
$300 video camera

OK; what else?

HEY WAIT!

Nevermind!

I don’t want to add up my air gun expenditures and, I don’t have a dog. 😳

And now; back to the regular scheduled programming that is now in progress!

Btango, that string looks good but; if you want to get REALLY Edgun anal, you could try turning the regulator down just a little, turning the HST screw out 2 turns and then turning it back in 1/4 turn at a time, shoot the gun 2 shots and see what speeds you are getting after each HST adjustment.

When the speeds top out, shoot the gun down past the regulator setting, refill and see what speeds you then have. While there is nothing wrong with your current string, I think that the reg is slightly too high and that you could pick up a couple more regulated shots with some adjustments. I like my Matadors to shoot in the 885 fps range.

A little tuning will really tighten up the max speed deviation and give you a lot tighter shot to shot variation. Plus, you will pick up a couple more regulated shots.

You know that you want to do it! 😆

Now what’s all this talk about dog being friends?!! This is Indy, she is a well trained portable bench rest and is proficient at “finishing off” and retrieving game..

She’s beautiful. I don’t know if that would work with my little Chihuahua? Maybe in the prone position? A quatro-pod for my Cricket?

Like John said though, second and third if ever will not cost as much. Just the initial investment.

I would disagree with the second and third not costing as much. The cheap things can be shared between the rifles, the expensive things are the rifles, scopes and cases….

Rifle #1: $2500
Rifle #2: $1800
Rifle #3: $2000
Rifle #4: $1600

Case#1: $350
Case #2: $250
Case #3: $120
Case #4: $120

I might consider a Bullpup if they ever move the darn bolt or the lever up near the trigger. Can’t have that sucker stuck in my ear? I’m still waiting on that Colibri and you to buy one and review it!
Oh, And Kota outshines them all :biggrinn:

You’re going cry like a big wuzz at work. At least I did it in the privacy of my own home.

nice shot string. How do you set your reg. and HST?

I didn’t set anything…it was shooting as is right out of the bag.

quote hacampbell1360:

Hi Brandon,

Congrats on your new R3M. I am glad you like it. from the look of your string, it looked awesome!! Did you have to do any adjustments or that was the way from the factory? That Cricket looks small compared to the Edgun. Being small does not necessary is bad, just an observation.
Seems like you shot the numbers out on purpose. Next time try to shoot a smiley face. that would look real cool.

Too bad you had to mess with the screws and got it stripped. Let me know the ones you ordered fits, otherwise I have new ones coming sometimes at the end of this week.

By the way, does “Taste of the Wild” tastes any good ? I have a kid that is badly under weight, maybe you can send a a bag full to help bulk him up.

John

Thanks John…but I ordered some from boltdepot.com…in the meantime I found some screws at Lowes that are doing just fine. My R3M is unadulterated, straight from the factory. Taste of the Wild is good dog food…100% grain free…and they come in different flavors. I like the “Bison” formula…kinda smells like a bbq…albeit a burned bbq :biggrinn: When you say “kid” do you mean a human child or a baby goat? :suprisedn:

But it’s mine….it’s mine!

We still love your Bullpup Tango!!!! Wish I could afford more than one a year 😉

Have at it Burgaw! We tainted the shit out of your “lurkin” thread with the ducati999 banter…..I was taking a nap for my mid tonight is why I wasn’t responding in my normally speedy fashion. 2013 was a decent year…maybe too good…who know’s I may have to sell 1 or 2 to payback Uncle Sam 🙁 We’ll see though..

I posted the pic of my “Kota”(English Mastiff) as she was sitting next to the Ed…kinda like Dennis said. I even ask my wife which one she preferred and just based on aesthetics she picked the Ed as she thought the Cricket’s stock “had too much going on”. Got some reading material for the mid tonight on that bald squirrel site
