Q:

R3M /R3 Review and Performance .WoW

Gentlemen;

First of all i want to apologize to Mr. Eduard and all of you, because i brought you incorrect info regarding the loudness of the new R3M, i told you that it is a little bit louder than my M-Rod, but it is not like this,

Okay, let talk about the loudness, what did you say? loud? Hey Hemn what sound are you talking about? 😯 guys if the Condor sound level is #5 and M-Rod is #2 then the new R3M is 0.75 😯 😯 on my point of view, because it is really really quite, yesterday when i did some practice in my fathers backyard all the sparrows and doves or even all birds they were on their position near at me on the trees when i was trying to do some chrony test, never moved and flied, believe me guys,
when i said that R3M is a little bit louder i was in my bed room 😯 😯 when i tried three dry fire,

Eduard you are correct as you told me dry fire is usually louder than fire with pellets …. sorry again…..

it is really really nice rifle and quite also more powerful than the R3,

guys you will be surprised when you see the below strings of the new R3M, here we go……………………………………….

Date Oct 12th 2013,
Edgun Matador R3M, .22 cal, starting pressure was 220 bar as mentioned in the manual.
Pellet; JSB 18.13gr

Eduard please tell me am i sick or these fps are correct ?

Shot# FPS

1 – error
2 – error
3 – 1012 the muzzle was near from the chrony about 50cm the i put the chrony after this shot 60cm away from the muzzle.
4 – dry fire by mistake

6 – 1003
7 – 1003
8 – 1004

11 – 1003 Pressure was 200 bar
12 – 1009
13 – 999.5
14 – 1002
15 – 1001
16 – 1000
17 – 1004
18 – 999.7
19 – 998
20 – 1006 Pressure was 185 bar

30 – 999 Pressure was 172 bar
31 – 1002
32 – 998.2
33 – 993.7
34 – 994.9 my place was very very bad for testing my gun so, i had to pull the gun toward me in order to get the perfect position for aiming the target, so, i believe those shots under 999fps occurred because of that.
35 – 995.9
36 – 999
37 – 997
38 – 999
39 – 999.2
40 – 997.9 Pressure was 155 bar
41 – 1011
42 – 997.1
43 – error
44 – error
45 – error
46 – error
47 – error
48 – Fucking error
49 – Fucking error
50 – Fucking error i believe due to the sun set the chrony wasn’t able to read. the last pressure was 145 bar

The average of the total of 39 shots = 1001.2 fps. ( i got the fps of 39 shot that is why i am calculating only 39)

the accuracy is very good out of 40 mtr for me ( since i am a new one to Bullpup and such a high quality of the gun )

Dear Sir Ville; when you read my review you will understand that there are a huge difference between R3 and R3M.

Dear Trygve; please go back to your home and let Mr. Martti ship your new R3M.

I will post the pics of the targets latter…..

Hope other guys who got their R3M share the new info ……………………

You’re right,I really envy the situation in your country. in china,We can only make air rifle by myself。。。(homemade),Secretly buy barrel, and i have two lather wather barrels(Each website price 107Dollar ),23.8inch。 After a while, I’ll arrange some photos to show you 。 hehe

quote kingbruce:

dear hemn, thanks, i think the head size 5.51 is the most suitable for edgun

I think it depends on each barrel rifling ,,, i pushed a pellet with head of 5.52 mm into my barrel and came out with a 5.49mm

dear hemn, thanks, i think the head size 5.51 is the most suitable for edgun

quote kingbruce:

nice shoot, dear, can you tell me the fps , the reg is 12.5bar ?? thanks

Dear Brother Bruce,,,

in fact the FPS was between 915 – 923 FPS ,,,, but i couldn’t get the full string ,,,because i have a ProChrono and it needs a good brightness and i was shooting while the sunset ,,, i could get few shots only,,, the reg, i have turned two times see below pics,,, but i don’t know what is the pressure that i did!!! but factory set to 130 bar,,, and i turned as shown below :

selected the screw before tuning,,,

then tuned 1/4 off

then after some time i tuned off a bit again … it was set 1/4 off,, then i turned off some ,,, i said hopefully i might get some tight shot strings around 930 FPS ,,??!! i don’t know if i was correct or wrong????

Yesterday also took some shots but with Edgun pellets ,,, i will try to post them also as a compreation between JSB pellets and Edgun Pellets ,,, however both are same and both manufactured from JSB company,,, but as usual both have different head sizes and some other differences,,,,

quote Hemn:

Guys,,,

here are my recent groups that taken from my SS breech,,, each group is 5 shots at 54 mtr … all pellets were JSB 18.13gr (those i ordered,,,),,, i got 3 tins of Edgun pellets ,,, i will try to take some groups with them ,,,

nice shoot, dear, can you tell me the fps , the reg is 12.5bar ?? thanks

My Dearest Edgun Brother Tedd,

Thanks for the reply,,, yes,, SS ,, i meant my Single Shot Breech that i got it last week,,, i love it too much ,,,it is very smooth and reliable,,, i don’t think i will use my MS breech until my Hunting season in winter ,,if i could to make it as smooth as my Single Shot breech is,,, i really enjoyed shooting with SS breech,,, even i tried to get a single shot tray for my Marauder ,,but looks like it is discounted ,,,

that day there was a wind ,,, wind is there everyday ,,,, and it will spoil my groups some time,,,

Hemn: my Edgun Brother: that is some great shooting! 😯

You have really improved your shooting skills since you first got your Matador!

You said that the groups were shot with a SS breach. I am assuming that the SS breach means a single shot breech?

All of my Matadors are single shot. I have owned other air guns with magazines and I ended up making a single shot loading tray for all of them. They all shot at least as well with the SS loading tray as they did with the mag plus, I didn’t have to fuck with loading the mag back up.

Hey; I’m an oldgoat and I’m old school! 😳

Never mind! 😆

I find shooting strings painful sometimes – especially on the .177s that may get 80 or more shots. 😯

yes,,,

now i have 3 or 4 full strings in my Pro-chronograph and have no energy/ time to post and write all shots,,, you are correct,,,

What you can do is fill it up to maybe 220 bar and then record the bar pressures from the gauge as you shoot it down to falling off of reg. :biggrinn: They may not be exactly correct but the trend will be evident – especially as it drops off of the regulator. You can probably just record every 4-5 shots until you get near the regulator pressure and then record every shot.

i might have time to try it tomorrow God Willing,,, hopefully ….

Brother Coda,,,

actually the reg has set for 130 bar from factory ,,, i reset it as i shown in the last posts ,,, and don’t know what is the pressure now,,,??!! i don’t have the reg pressure test,,,

quote SECoda:

I don’t know if that is a full string but you have a very slight climb at the end but he spread is very good. The Regulator is pretty high I guess. Do you know the pressures on those?

quote Hemn:

Dear Brothers Charlie and Ville,,,,

Thanks a lot,,, i am also more satisfied this time,,, i will post full 120 bar string when i get my JSBs,,, God Willing,,,

the accuracy is not matter for the time being since i don’t have JSB 18grs…. the best weight for .22cal air rifles…

here is another string i just took it from my ProChrony

JSB 15.88gr / HI 969 FPS / LW 960 / AV 965 / ES 9 / SD 2 / ……………….. :ugeekn:

guys,,,,

after resetting the regulator i tried some targets with both pellets 18.13gr and 15.89 gr… here are some targets,,, but i can remember that below one was taken with 18.13gr JSBs,,, at 54 metrs … 5 shots …

and all were taken at 54 metrs

this is 10 shots JSB 15.89 gr… at 54 mtrs..

and while waiting for my new shipment i disassembled my edgun to remove the silicone grease that i had put on the regulator washers ,,, and reset the reg again and wanted to get some more tight shot to shot consistency at high power ,,, i am not sure if i am correct or mistaken,,,

still haven’t fixed this issue ,,,

and i have to take these parts all together because of that damn screw ..

am always take care of this small o-ring ,,,

i have to send a very special thank to my Edgun brother Tedd for his very useful tool,,,he made the the job very easy,,thanks Tedd ,,,very great tool,,,

degassing the air reservoir ,,,

i have to say that Edwrd was quite correct about gumming the silicon great on these washers,,, i put silicon grease by mistake ,,

cleaned them and put moly grease on them,,,

i have set the reg as below,,, i am wondering to know whether i can get more shot to shot consistency at 930 PFS ?? or not???

marked the HST as well and turned off 2 full turns ,,, then going up to the desired power,,,

i will try to post the shot results later God Willing…

and today i converted my Edgun R3M to R3 ,,,

guys,,, note that the written of the serial number painted on left side instead of right side,,, but the other single breech that i got it for my friend is not like this,,
