scope for the shorty
Well I dealt with the hawke scopes long enough….. I want something light weight and compact I would also like it to work off a mildot or such reticle.
so can we get a list going here……. FFP would be nice too.

I read the posts farmer. No one’s stepping on anyone’s toes here especially the Keysers. My post was only intended to relay info this is all. Personally I like to inspect the fleas on the squirrels ass I am about to light up. And this is an awesome scope like Keyser said. However I like to see my targets up and close and this is not a backyard scope not for my yard and not for the magnifications I like to shoot at.
Thank you Captain Obvious! Guess you didn’t read through the thread?
😀 J/K man. Without you we wouldn’t have anyone to laugh at.
I’m shooting furry tree rats…. not fleas

The great Oakster. …
I’m shooting furry tree rats…. not fleas. Not need for any magnification at 10 yards…
What is up with your shorty…. did the good doctor fix her up?
Glad to hear this …
Congrats for your new toy :thumb:
Enjoy :8:
At lower magnification the Vortex Viper PST 2.5-10×32mm will parallax at 10 yards but not higher magnification.
The vortex PST 2.5x10x32 FFP MOA/MOA and mil/mil both have a 35 yard parallax it will parallax down to 10 yards
Right now I’m really digging the scope keyser has….
Vortex pst.
Just waiting on a few price quotes and I may pull the trigger.
Glad you’re making a wise decision and putting some decent glass on your airguns. Hope other guys follow suit. Once you get behind decent glass, it’s hard to go back to Hawke, Leapers and etc.
On a side note, if it’s a FFP scope and has a 50 yd min parallax. Chances are if you use 3x or 4x magnification, you can still get the image and reticle to be infocus at 25 yds. Maybe even closer. If it’s decent glass, the image will be very good even though the reticle may be small but if you’re say hunting, you’ll have a great field of view at 3x/4x. Not many scopes in the $1K+ range has 10 yds parallax besides March and S&B but if you’re shooting 25 yds on out, I wouldn’t be discourage in using a FFP scope that has say 25/35/50 yds min parallax. However, if you’re punching paper at 25 yds and want to see the exit holes, that might be a problem.
If I go second plane ….. it will be a Nightforce

I have and use the Optisans Viper 10x44SCB Cricket25, Mamba Lite 3-12x44SCB and Cobra 3-9x42MD, I was going to use either the Mamba or the Cobra on the shorty, but I’ve been thinking about running the newer Gen BugBuster with the finer reticle to keep it compact and lite.
The UTG compact 3-12 is a 30mm tube IIRC and not really that lite, I bought one a year ago and it had a tilted reticle so I returned it and never looked back. I’m sure if you don’t mind the weight it’s a great optic. I have quite a few UTG optics and they’ve been solid.
I bought mine on eBay. The MOA versions go on sale way more often than the MRAD version. I think because the new hot tactical scope in the USA is the mil system. There are pros and cons to both but I think for a medium power airgun (20-25 foot pounds) the MOA reticle doesn’t jump yards as much between subtensions. But I they both work. But make sure you buy the PST version of the Vortex.
Keyser where you buy yours from….
I’ve always wanted to try an ffp scope. Can’t think of a better time than now…
I’m using Strelok pro too. It’s more field friendly than Chairgun
