Q:

scope for the shorty

Well I dealt with the hawke scopes long enough….. I want something light weight and compact I would also like it to work off a mildot or such reticle.

so can we get a list going here……. FFP would be nice too.

That’s strelok pro. I bought the $12 version.

Hey keyser what program do u use to plot your reticle????

Guys you’re killing me. Don’t go cheap Chinese glass on such a cool gun. I have already put mine in service killing starlings at 100 yards. This little bugger can shoot. Get good glass.

balance is everything on such a little sweet gun. choose wisely. Get the Vortex PST 2.5X10X32 FFP MOA/MOA. Don’t listen to that BS that it won’t parallax below 35 yards. Turn the magnification down to 5X and it will parallax at 10 yards.

Look how the little guy sits on the table perfectly balanced on the grip. This is what you want. Plus the scope tracks perfectly and has a ton of features.

as you can see the EBR-1 MOA reticle gives plenty of holdover.
This reticle is the 18.1 JSB @830 chrono’d at sea level

What do you consider compact and light weight? I’ve owned 2 Hawke scopes and they were okay for the price. I sold both at a loss for something better. Basically sold 2 scopes to fund one. Overall it was a good decision. I don’t know your budget but in my opinion once you start spending $700+ for a scope you realize the quality in build and glass vs a $500 Hawke Sidewinder which isn’t exactly cheap. Many of you have a nice collection of very accurate airguns and having a decent scope would really open your eyes as to what you’ve been missing. I see many go through a number of $200 scopes and end up unhappy. If only they just waited out and splurge on a single scope purchase they’d be happy and end up spending the same. I made the same mistake so now am trying to avoid it going forward.

I agree with you about heavy 30mm scopes. I took a tip from varmintair and tried a hawk panarama ev ir 4-12×40 ao. It is short and light with great optics.
I have it mounted on my Colibri and I love it.
Looking to buy another but they are bringing out a new version anytime.

I just got my leapers 3-12x-44 today like most of the guys here have and I am very happy with it. Its clear and great size for the compact. Foxbrokeback has a picture of it on his http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=32960&p=337463#p337463
