you guys are getting off easy.

at least once each year, i have to spend 1/2 day sitting in gucci, chanel, bulgari etc while my wife selects a handbag.

i don’t know what’s worse. having to spend all that time in those stores or all the money it costs to end the shopping trip.

and most of those stores don’t even have public internet! (but most give me a beer or water.)

If Ed does come out with one you can bet your ass there will never
be a bunch of them sitting on a bench waiting for repair like there
are at Pyramyd.Is throwing lead out till you hit something really

There is definitely a niche for an accurate and reliable auto/semi PCP, and the Speed/Max is taking advantage of this fact. I hope Ed will soon come up with a drop in semi/auto kit for his guns. Then we might see a healthy rivalry which in turn would lead to an accuracy and reliability contest among the fast repeaters.

So far the 25 seems to be the most accurate, but it just depends on who you trust. But the reports are of superb accuracy, Pyramyd air blog writer Tom Gaylord says he shot one of the best groups of his life with the 22 and 15.9 grain Exacts, but again it is all about who you can trust, Eric Ehoclap claimed excellent accuracy as did SP on the Yellow, whether you trust their claims is an issue with some here.

The flaws seem to be with it tying up with certain types of pellets, Kodiaks in particular. Fixing it after it does this does not seem to be hard to do either. Battery application I think will also evolve, but all in all it is a proven concept in paintball, where as the Rogue was all new.

But for me, I will wait several months to see how it all shakes down, I love the concept, I just don’t trust the first run of anything.

Besides I am still bleeding from the Royale/Holland purchase.

Perhaps you do not see or can’t envision a advantage to semi auto fire, but as an experienced varmit hunter, I certainly can, not so much for the tube bullpup gun but definately for the bottle rifle.

And whether or not this rifle proves to be a winner, as most Evanix rifles do will be seen. However it must be pointed out that the Rogue came from a company that has produced flawed PCP rifles of consistantly dubious quality, so as far as producing quality complicated guns like a Rogue, I went on the record very early saying they could not pull it off, and they did not.

Gawd knows they have a good customer support division, for Crosman should get lots of practice. So a Rogue/Speed/Evanix comparison is not really practical. I have never owned current examples of either brand, but I can read.

As far as practibility and market desire for a repeater or semi or even full auto, loyal Edgun fans have been begging for a repeater aftermarket fix for this arm since I have been reading about them.

This is where I see the repeater function shining:

Jackrabbits, running in the desert, repeat shots are a must if you want high success, right now in the PB rifles, the AR 15’s are the heads up kings of this sport, a powerful 25 caliber semiauto would be great.

Called coyotes, this gun fires fast enough for a three shot burst and get mulitiple hits on dogs that respond to a call, more energy from those would equal more dogs staying put after hit.

Prairie Dogs and ground squirrels where mulitple targets are present and long range, you get instant correction for wind and holdover. I have often seen several hundred squirrels in one sitting. My son prior to going to Iraq set in a alfalfa field in his Toyta pickup and shot 400 shots in three different locations and never left his truck. For super long range where you walk your shots to target, you almost have to have a repeater to do this before winds change or targets disappear.

Starlings in the tops of high Doug Firs in the wind. If your using a good piece of glass so you can see your misses due to wind and angle, you again can make instant corrections, I personally see a great increase on downed birds with the AA S410 and the Royale, they don’t always fly after the first shot.

Yes no arguement on whether the rest of the flock often will fly, they often will no matter how silent the muzzle report, but for some reason the ones missed don’t always. I have seen and shot at super long range at squirrels and birds that stick around after the first or second miss, being able to walk my shots in is a plus, perhaps they are just genes that are not going into the gene pool, sort of like springer shooters.

This discussion we are having has been repeated often in recent history, the last 200 years, every time a firearm with a magazine or semi or full auto function has come out, ie, the Springfield trapdoor vrs Krag, the M1 Garand vrs the Springfiled 1903, and the M14 and M16 vrs the Garand.

It is great to hold onto your Edgun, it is indeed a fine rifle, but I would not be so fast to disregard this series of rifles.

But it does seem to be you owners of the Edguns who cry the loudest over this product

I have many singleshot rifles, but always welcome a fast second shot.

Roachcreek: I read the warm and fuzzy posts SP put on the Yellow and Airgun Advice about the Speed and I thought that it was an interesting airgun. He posted a link to Jim Chapman’s reviews of the Speed and the Max and Jim was all warm and fuzzy also. I am still waiting for anybody else to post their opinion of either of the guns.

I wanted to read some other reviews; I don’t necessarily trust SP and Jim. A guy posted last Friday on the Yellow that he had just got a Max in and would shoot it extensively all weekend and then post his thoughts on it.

This is Thursday morning and I still haven’t seen a post from the guy about his new $1800 Max!

If I had gotten the first Max in, you can bet your ass that I would shoot the hell out of it all weekend and then post results and pics!

I do that whenever I get another Edgun.

I am NOT a great shot but, I can usually hit what I am shooting at. When shooting at pigeons, starlings or sparrows, the first shot’s sound of impact will send the rest of them flying. A missed shot will also send them off. A quick follow up shot wouldn’t be that useful.

The Max is still interesting to me. I have access to a grain elevator and there is usually a flock of pigeons sitting around. It would be sweet to pop one and then rip on the rest when they took off!

Still waiting for an unbiased owner’s opinion of the Speed and/or Max.

If the Max turns out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread, I would buy one. I would still have to do something about the stamped sheet metal forearm and cheesy afterthought looking scope mount!

Sorry but, the Speed and Max are looking like another Rogue to me.

Gun design is mostly physics, science and design. Kim Chee, well, that’s a cross of disgusting, tasty, funky magic. Who woulda thought salting cabbage, rotting it in pots with pounds of hot pepper, rotted fish juice and other spices would not (usually) poison you?

Just made a few gallons of “Kraut-Chee” in a Polish fermentation crock. Mixed sauerkraut and Kim Chee recipes.

Now, maybe I’m a weirdo (no no Hoot, it’s too easy), but guns out here are mostly used to
1: target shoot;
2: kill things

Since the targets aren’t usually moving, a bolt-action pcp will get the job done. As for killing, with a pcp, it is not yet like shooting 2+ deer with a semi or auto powderburner; you’re usually shooting at crows, squirrels, etc. with those. Are second shots common (assuming you’re a decent shot and killed the first varmint)? How often would it really come in handy?

Well, I can only think of one time in my life when a fast-action, low caliber pcp would’ve not just come in handy; it could have saved lives:
