Q:

Shiney Thing !!!

Start of new project ,this being a lump of 128x70x30 6082 T6 alloy for my 8 shot rotary mag bullpup. Ive got to put a 14mm hole all the way through this on my tiny lathe for the probe and barrel to line up and a 15mm x 90mm deep hole for the hammer to travel . This all done on an 8″ lathe is going to be scary ! ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

Putting it in a four jaw chuck on a 6mm hold is looking the only way of machining it .Its going to be quite a mass to swing at any speed but il see ๐Ÿ™‚
So as with the last gun this is going to take an absurd amount of time to complete and very likely to drag on for far too long. It may also be a no starter if i cant machine these to holes but arfter spending 4 months finalizing the drawings i realy want to give it a go .So L8ter all …….Much Later hehe ๐Ÿ˜€

Looking great man!

Creeping along slowly ….its amazing how long this stage of the build takes !…. got the butt , mags , trigger gaurd , muzzle brake and mag lock all anodised. The parts came up nice and black so im just waiting for the breach to return on Tuesday from the engravers ( the Russians int gona find the engraving funny …..lol….. but i will ๐Ÿ˜€ ! ) before its sent away to be anodised. The stock has been stippled and stained , got the right colour i liked but the trouble with Tulip wood is that it takes alot of stain into it when you cut across the grain. These areas tend to be very dark so not a complete success but im going to have to live with it . Its got to be oiled yet and looks alot darker than in the pic , new trigger to make and O-rings to be found for the mags and thats it ! …..then onto my new hobbie ………anyone made a strip canoe ?

L8r all ๐Ÿ˜€

looks great , glad to see it all came together so nice . if it shoots half as good as it looks ,then you have a heck of a gun .

Have to agree with you Adam but ……..theres always a dam ” BUT ” have you noticed that…….damit ……it cost ยฃ20 a dip and would take 2 dips so i save myself some bucks. Also the guy who dose the anodising , sold me some dye so its the same colour. Hopefully it will not look any differant , as i will do all the shotblasting and prep on all the parts. But in an ideal world he would do it all ……but im saving for my next and last build ….. ๐Ÿ˜€

oh mate thats now looks so awhsome welldone mate .we chatted about the trigger gaurd but i thought u were going to leave it but noiw mate it looks sweet i,m realy staring to think this will be one off the best gun,s i,ve seen built welldone mate .

That is very nice.

Maybe you should send all parts to be anodized to the same place it make sure they are similar in color and shade?

Completed the muzzle brake , made in two parts which screw together . I didnt screw cut the barrel for a silencer because i got lazy so the muzzle brake will be the adapter for the LCD when i get round to it ๐Ÿ˜€ bit dirty in pic from the caustic soda its been in.

Took abit of messing around to fit it on my mill , this is about as far as i could go !

Reshaped the trigger gaurd to make it look softer , think it works better than the sharp ,pointy version.

The butt pad , muzzle brake and trigger gaurd will be anodised by me but the breach will go away to be done as i dont have enough amps to anodise it. ๐Ÿ™
So its on to the time consuming polishing and fettling faze with every thing being sandblasted before anodising. I maybe a while……………

how u ma rails more important lol .well mate it,s comeing along realy nicley now one thinng but mate u needto sand the stock a bit better i can c scuff,s on it lol ๐Ÿ˜›

you have talent great work, when done is going to be worth like 5 k just in work time ๐Ÿ˜›

nice piece of work there.

This is why Rabbits rail int done ๐Ÿ˜€ ….yet ! . Dont know yet as to how to cover the holes , either drill some more holes and fit a cut O-ring into the holes or just cover with some foam padding. This is going to be the first piece im going to home anodise so hopefully il show some results soon ๐Ÿ˜• .

I origanaly was going to checker my Stealth builds adjusting pad but thats as far as i got .Far from perfect checkering but it looks ok and ive learnt how to do it for next time ๐Ÿ˜€ .Grips nicely with the checkering not foruming a full diamond as i dont want to wreck my hunting tweed jacket. ……hehe ๐Ÿ˜€

nev mate come on bud your stuff is metal work mine is wood and i,m telling u now u have done a lovely bit off work on the stock (well u could off done this?) lol only kidding mate nice bit offf work mate now get on with my rail lol ๐Ÿ˜†

You’re right, I don’t know how I missed that the barrel was not yet installed. I guess 1.5 hours of sleep after a 15 hour work night isn’t enough, lol. I still think it will look pretty cool with the barrel on, as well. Maybe my feel for gun aesthetics is a little off-center.

quote payne540:

Well, I know it’s subjective, but I think your gun looks pretty sweet. The tall receiver leaves you plenty of room for a gargantuan scope!

Well if I’m seeing this right he hasn’t installed the barrel yet. That’s just the tank.
