Just got on the list #211 , so it will be a while. besides the desiccant filter is there anything I should get right away? Parts or O-rings?
I’m also in the market for a 88cf 4500psi scba tank. If I’m filling it myself do I need to be worried about hydro dates or age?

I got two 88’s shipped for $275. There from ’97 and ’99, but very clean. I got them from eBay from someone in MI. Still need to get ahold of Joe and possibly buy a rifle, Walt is currently working on mine.

Well Joe got back to me and I ordered the tank and paid for it. He actually responded via e mail very well. two or three e mails back and forth and the deal is done. pigmee should be here in a week or so.

I was trying to order the pigmee tank from Joe via e mail which everyone seems to say is the wrong way will call him tonight. That way I will work off the pigmee tank and use my scuba tank for a spare (back up) pigmee tank should be enough for my normal needs and can be carried in the woods. With shoebox who needs more than two tanks?
I was relying on the gauge for my marauder fill adapter (cheap small hard to read gauge. Sounds like a plan let it run for an hour and check it after that. I am at 2900 psi now (checked with scuba gear last night) Could let run for two hours then cool I am sure it will be fine. The scuba shop sometimes filled my 3000 psi tank to 3300 psi so when it cooled it was still near 3000 psi.
150 to 200 psi per hour on an 88cf tank.
So if you did 300 psi in 45minutes..then you have a race shoebox
I have a standard 3000 psi scuba tank. I tried to top off from 2600 psi to 3000 psi last night. I let it run for 45 minutes and got to 2900 psi. Is that normally how long it takes to top off the scuba tank? I was thinking since i was only going from 2600 to 3000 psi it would fill quicker no???

Have you asked Joe B if he has any used tanks for sale. He used too. That where I got my 44cf from.

first of all, these tanks were made in April 1996( even though the ad doesn’t state it- you have to read the labels closely) which means they are past their legal service date- if that matters to you. secondly, i could not find anything in the add that states they are 60 minute tanks(i.e. 88cf). i suspect they are 44cf tanks. thirdly, theY were not hydro tested in Dec. 2009- that is when their last hydro inspection EXPIRED! if they had really been hydroed then, that hydro would have extended beyond the tanks legal service life. the info is there on the labels but you have to know what you are looking for. none of this really matters if you want them but there are other deals on ebay that are as good but apply to tanks that are still “legal”.
