Shroud Cover Instructions

First batch of shroud covers should be arriving to a few members today. Although the mod is easy to install, I just wanted to go over a few things.

1. Grab some painter’s blue tape. I find that this works better than electrical tape and leaves hardly any sticky residue when you take it off.

2. Removed the OEM shroud, this is also a good opportunity to give it a good wipe down.

3. Place one layer of blue tape on the front and rear of the OEM shroud. Make sure the tape is laying flat and no bubbles.

4. You do not need to overlap the tape, it is actually better not to. Also, blue tape is easy to tear off but I suggest using a scissor to get a clean cut. By tearing it, you might leave points where the shroud cover can peel back the tape.

5. After taping, pickup the shroud cover and test to see if it fits. You should not need to force it in there. It should go in with little effort yet you can feel it snugged.

6. Screw the OEM shroud back on

7. Before you slide the shroud cover on, make sure there are no debris or dirt inside the cover. This goes for every time you put the cover on as well.

8. Align the cutout so that it is facing the air tube.

9. Slowly push the cover on and keep an eye on the tape and make sure it doesn’t get peeled back. After many use it’ll start peeling so replace with new tape.

10. The cover will end where the OEM shroud ends.

11. You should still be able to see the gap between the air tube and cover.

12. That’s it, happy shooting!

There are Wingman condoms. 😯 I guess they are down under. πŸ˜†

WITH A WINGMAN IT’S ALMOST WITHOUT

Because you want to focus on each other, not the condom

On ebay 10,000 condom made in China for a couple of bucks they do work great, until they break ! 😯

The standard condom works great too and is even quieter than the compact. It’s funny because I shot three sparrows in a row while a squirrel just sat there looking around. The only noise they hear are the impacts.

Air fill is fine on both.

It’s a little strange hearing the ping and pellet impact only. I do get more shots I would say because the other critters are not spooked so much.

I’ll test the standard one today.

Baby Cricket

Hey Donny,

I’ve been gone from the form for awhile and just saw this. Looks cool. I have a custom 15″ Neil Clague for my .22 cricket but it would be cool to have an even quieter option. I’ll have to drill down through this to see how it’s done… but are you selling them???

Well done Donny!

Don

Nice Brant! That’s good to hear. The little bugger has some power in her. I was going to say if it’s moving the shroud, switch to electrical tape. When you put it on, only overlap a little once you get to the other end of the tape. When you slide your shroud on, the tape will roll back a little which is good because it’s creating more of a snug fit. It will be hard to push that off now.

It works nicely. It is quiet and already took out a squirrel (absolutely no POI shift on the target). After a few shots I do notice it sliding a bit. Would you recommend adding another layer of tape in front or another layer in the middle?

Update: Second layer of tape on the front did the trick – perfect. Baby Cricket is set at 900 FPS and has a bit of oomph with that short barrel. Now I hear the hammer slap mainly.

Woo hooo!! Hope it works on the compact

Ok Donny, I made my own following your instructions and I also wrapped it with the Di-NOC carbon fiber from 3M (Very easy to do). Very happy with the results. Thanks again for sharing your trial and error with the forum! Sounds and looks great

Come on Cal, you could ship it to me for testing I’m real good at returning things…………………………..
